Collapsible Table Holder For Attachment To A Trailer Hitch Of A Motor Vehicle

US Patent:
6189458, Feb 20, 2001
Filed:
Jul 6, 1999
Appl. No.:
9/347566
Inventors:
George Rivera - Covina CA
International Classification:
B60R 2700
US Classification:
108 44
Abstract:
A collapsible holder having a first end to be detachably connected to a conventional trailer hitch at the rear of a motor vehicle and a second end to be detachably coupled to a folding table. The collapsible holder has a pair of outer arms that are pivotally connected to opposite ends of a middle arm. When the collapsible holder is detached from the trailer hitch and uncoupled from the folding table, the outer and middle arms are adapted to be rotated into face to face alignment, with one arm located above the other, to form a compact package that is suitable for transport and storage between uses. In order to support an outdoor grille from the collapsible holder, an inner coupling post that is affixed to the grille is slidably received within and engaged by an outer coupling post that is affixed to the holder. In the alternative, the outdoor grille is coupled to the collapsible holder by a removable coupling attachment. The coupling attachment has a coupling post at one end thereof to carry the grille and a locking plate at the opposite end to be connected to the holder.

Combination Collapsible Barbecue Grill And Folding Table

US Patent:
6302097, Oct 16, 2001
Filed:
Jun 19, 2000
Appl. No.:
9/596368
Inventors:
George Rivera - Covina CA
International Classification:
F24C 520
US Classification:
126 38
Abstract:
A combination barbecue grill and folding table that is adapted to be manipulated from a fully deployed condition, during which food can be cooked on the grill and then served on an adjacent table, and a collapsed condition, during which the grill and table are folded into a compact package that is suitable for transport and storage. The barbecue grill is removably received at the top of a cooking stand, and a plurality of fold-up legs extend downwardly from the cooking stand to support the cooking stand above the ground. According to one embodiment of the invention, a pair of table members are hingedly connected end-to-end one another. The first table member is rotated towards and over the top of the cooking stand, and the second table member is then rotated over the first table member to establish a compact package. In a second embodiment, first and second table members are pivotally connected to opposite sides of the cooking stand. The first table member is rotated towards and over a first half of the top of the cooking stand, and the second table member is then rotated towards and over the second half of the top of the cooking stand to establish another compact package.

Combination Bicycle Mount And Collapsible Holder To Be Coupled To A Trailer Hitch Of A Motor Vehicle

US Patent:
6234372, May 22, 2001
Filed:
Oct 12, 1999
Appl. No.:
9/415243
Inventors:
George Rivera - Covina CA
International Classification:
B60R 910
US Classification:
224536
Abstract:
A combination bicycle mount and a collapsible holder by which the bicycle mount is removably coupled to an existing trailer hitch of a motor vehicle. With the bicycle mount uncoupled from the collapsible holder, the holder is adapted to be folded into a compact package to facilitate transport and storage between uses. The bicycle mount includes upper and lower retaining plates between which a single bicycle frame bar or a pair of bicycle frame bars are received and retained. A threaded locking bolt extends between the upper and lower retaining plates to be rotated in either a first direction to cause the retaining plates to move together to establish a clamping force against the bicycle frame bars or an opposite direction to reduce the clamping force. A cranking tab is pivotally connected to the head of the locking bolt to be rotated between a locked position at which to prevent the locking bolt from being rotated and an unlocked position at which to permit the locking bolt to be rotated.
