Filed:
Nov 21, 2001
Appl. No.:
09/990641
Inventors:
Mark E. Irving - Rochester NY
Gregg P. Bryant - Rochester NY
JoAnn D. Hanna - Rochester NY
Mark R. Mis - Rochester NY
Nancy B. Liebert - Rochester NY
Assignee:
Eastman Kodak Company - Rochester NY
International Classification:
G03C 1498
US Classification:
430503, 430502, 430512, 430517, 430543, 430559, 430566, 430570, 430607, 430613, 430620, 430944, 430964
Abstract:
The invention is directed to a color photothermographic film in which particles comprising an organic silver salt is treated with a dye that functions as a passivating agent. In particular, the present invention involves passivating the organic silver salts with a dye that blocks the surface of the organic silver salt or ligand, resulting in a reduction of speed loss. The invention is also directed to a method of making a photothermographic element to improve raw stock keeping.

Photographic Element Containing A Red Dye-Forming Pyrazolotriazole Coupler

US Patent:
6638701, Oct 28, 2003
Filed:
Dec 17, 2002
Appl. No.:
10/321269
Inventors:

Assignee:
Eastman Kodak Company - Rochester NY
International Classification:
G03C 108
US Classification:
430558, 430503, 430502, 430543
Abstract:
Disclosed is a photographic element comprising a a light sensitive silver halide emulsion layer having associated therewith a pyrazolotriazole dye forming coupler having formula I in which is and L is linked to the C atom; L is a carbon atom of the triazole ring, substituted by one or two alkyl or aryl groups; L is a chain of one or two carbon atoms that may be further substituted by alkyl or aryl groups; R1 is selected from the group consisting of alkyl groups containing 1-3 carbon atoms; R2 is selected from the group consisting of hydrogen, alkyl and aryl groups; R3 is a substituted carbonyl, carbamoyl, sulfonyl, or sulfamoyl group; and X is H or a coupling-off group. Such an element provides a red dye forming coupler of improved stability.

Filed:
Nov 21, 2001
Appl. No.:
09/990719
Inventors:
Gregg P. Bryant - Rochester NY
JoAnn D. Hanna - Rochester NY
Nancy B. Liebert - Rochester NY
Mark E. Irving - Rochester NY
Assignee:
Eastman Kodak Company - Rochester NY
International Classification:
G03C 1498

Abstract:
The invention is directed to a color photothermographic film in which particles comprising an organic silver salt is treated with a passivating agent. In particular, the present invention involves passivating the organic silver salts with an organic adsorbate that blocks the surface of the organic silver salt or ligand, resulting in a reduction of speed loss. The invention is also directed to a method of making a photothermographic element to improve raw stock keeping.
