About:
Holly’s background in design and real estate development enable her to recognize the potential of neighborhoods in transition, realize the highest and best use for buildings and sites and identify the most sustainable and profitable investment strategies for her clients. Holly is a valuable resource for property data, market research and neighborhood expertise. She welcomes the challenge of complicated deals and projects and is well versed on property conversions and construction processes. Holly is a trained architect and has a broad range of experience with complex, design-led projects from feasibility through construction phases. She participated in notable projects such as 6.2 BB Columbia University 6.8 MM SF, 17-acre multi-phase expansion at new Manhattanville campus, and the Award winning $48-million GSA United States Port of Entry & Border Station at Calais, a highly technical and unprecedented project type under the GSA Design Excellence Program. Holly expanded her career in the built environment at Columbia University’s MS in Real Estate Development program where she developed a value focused research agenda for sustainable development and investing. Her thesis, Quantifying Sustainability, and ongoing research examines the existing challenges of green valuation, compiles best practices and metrics, and proposes new product types and business opportunities. Holly contends the most sustainable investment is the adaptive reuse of existing buildings and sites. In early 2009 Holly joined Harlem Lofts as Director of Strategic Initiatives, a role that encompassed marketing and business development, brand strategy, overall firm management, and nurturing sales team talent. Her strengths include creative problem solving, trend awareness, and building complex, multidisciplinary teams. Currently, Holly’s brokerage team is focusing on distressed real estate opportunities and Harlem investment sales. Holly is a licensed real estate salesperson and is a member of the Manhattan Association of Realtors® (MANAR), the New York State Association Of Realtors® (NYSAR), the National Association of Realtors® (NAR) and regularly contributes to the MANAR Technology Committee. Other affiliations include the American Institute of Architects, the Architecture League of NY, and the Urban Land Institute Young Leaders. Holly lives in Harlem and is actively engaged with the Mount Morris Park Community Improvement Association, in particular its Beautification Committee and MMP Annual House Tour. In addition to real estate and design, Holly’s passions include travel, cooking, yoga, hiking and skiing. Harlem Lofts, Inc. is a boutique real estate brokerage, development and property management firm which specializes in assisting homeowners and investors to take full advantage of the opportunities in the Harlem real estate market. Harlem Lofts, Inc. was established in 1999 with the specific vision of developing Harlem townhouses into convertible loft style spaces.
