US Classification:
424725, 604500, 604514
Abstract:
This invention relates to a nutritional dietary system, formulation, kit and method for use in preparing an individual for a predetermined activity which requires a clean digestive tract, particularly the colon. Such predetermined activities include, but are not limited to, gastrointestinal surgery and colon screenings. Specifically, the present invention provides an individual low amounts of fat, dietary fiber and solid food content to minimize stool formation and/or facilitate removal of stool from the digestive tract prior to the predetermined activity. The present invention also provides the individual with sufficient calories and nutrition to enable the individual to conduct daily, routine activities while utilizing the present invention. In one alternative embodiment, the dietary regimen of the present invention provides a variety of pre-packaged, ready to eat or easy to prepare nutritional liquid or solid foods which, when coordinated with a laxative regimen, result in removal of residue such that a medically and/or diagnostically useful procedure can be performed on the digestive tract.

Arrangement For Applying Coded Illuminated Patterns To An Object

US Patent:
4187011, Feb 5, 1980
Filed:
May 8, 1978
Appl. No.:
5/903769
Inventors:
Paul L. Di Matteo - Melville NY
Joseph A. Ross - Fort Salonga NY
Howard K. Stern - Greenlawn NY
Lawrence Waszak - Coram NY
Assignee:
Solid Photography Inc. - Melville NY
International Classification:
G03B 2102
G01B 1124
US Classification:
353122
Abstract:
A plurality of projectors are positioned in spaced relationship about an object with a surface to be geometrically analyzed. The projectors have cooperating masks which project onto the object illuminated patterns that subdivide the object into predetermined sections. Each mask has a predetermined pattern of sections, and is applied in sequence. The masks are cooperatively illuminated in the projectors, with a separate pattern prevailing on the object each time that a separate mask is illuminated. The combinations of the patterns on the masks define closely-spaced sections subdividing the object. The patterns are coded so that each section is uniquely defined in coded form. Cameras having the entire object within their field of view, photograph the object each time a separate mask is illuminated. The patterns or sections are generated by parallel lines projected through a mask onto the object.

Mouth Guard For Use With A Diagnostic Instrument

US Patent:
4640273, Feb 3, 1987
Filed:
May 8, 1985
Appl. No.:
6/731882
Inventors:
Franklin R. Greene - Flushing NY
Howard S. Stern - Old Westbury NY
Jerome D. Waye - New York NY
Assignee:
E-Z-Em, Inc. - Westbury NY
International Classification:
A61B 124
US Classification:
128136
Abstract:
This disclosure is directed to a disposable mouth guard constructed having a relatively hard, rigid core formed with an opening to permit passage therethrough of a diagnostic instrument, such as an endoscope. The core is sufficiently rigid to resist compression and prevent damage to the internal workings of the endoscope when the patient bites down on the center portion of the mouth guard. The outer surface of the core is provided with a relatively flexible soft coat to cushion the patient's bite.

Method And Apparatus For Use In Position Determining

US Patent:
3936649, Feb 3, 1976
Filed:
Jul 22, 1974
Appl. No.:
5/490875
Inventors:
Paul L. Di Matteo - Dix Hills NY
Joseph A. Ross - Fort Salonga NY
Howard K. Stern - Greenlawn NY
International Classification:
G01C 1112
US Classification:
250558
Abstract:
Reticle structure defining a succession of contiguous cells, separately discernible upon illumination thereof, is spacedly positioned relative to a discernible indicium, such as a light source. The indicium is disposed in a known location relative to the reticle structure and the cells and indicium are viewed jointly from a given location. Information is derived for use in determining the positional coordinates of the given location with respect to the indicium.

Three Dimensional Object Surface Determination With Automatic Sensor Control

US Patent:
4991968, Feb 12, 1991
Filed:
Jul 20, 1988
Appl. No.:
7/221641
Inventors:

Arrangement For Sensing The Geometric Characteristics Of An Object

US Patent:
4145991, Mar 27, 1979
Filed:
Mar 14, 1977
Appl. No.:
5/776991
Inventors:
Paul L. DiMatteo - Melville NY

Howard K. Stern - Greenlawn NY
Assignee:
Solid Photography Inc. - Melville NY
International Classification:
G01B 1100
G01B 1124
US Classification:
356156
Abstract:
An arrangement for locating points on a surface, in which the surface is irradiated selectively and subdivided into a number of sections. The subdivided sections are made to overlap so that a region of one section overlaps the region of a neighboring section. Images of the irradiated sections are recorded, and then scanned for purposes of defining the location of predetermined points within overlapping regions of the subdivided sections. The location of the points within overlapping regions is dependent on a predetermined relationship of irradiated intensities of the points obtained during the scanning procedure.

Arrangement For Sensing The Geometric Characteristics Of An Object

US Patent:
4202612, May 13, 1980
Filed:
Jun 6, 1978
Appl. No.:
5/912959
Inventors:
Paul L. Di Matteo - Melville NY
Joseph A. Ross - Fort Salonga NY
Howard K. Stern - Greenlawn NY
Lawrence Waszak - Coram NY
Assignee:

International Classification:
G03B 2126
G03B 2120
G01C 1112
G01B 1124
US Classification:
353 28
The masks are cooperatively advanced in the projectors, with a separate illuminating pattern prevailing on the object each time that the masks are advanced. The combinations of the patterns on the masks define closely-spaced sections subdividing the object. The patterns are coded so that each section is uniquely defined in coded form. Cameras having the entire object within their field of view, photograph the object each time a separate mask is applied. The patterns or sections are parallel planes projected through a mask onto the object.
