A game in which a single player strikes a tennis ball with a conventional tennis racket so that the ball is driven away from the point in which the player is standing. The tennis ball is attached to a flexible cable that includes a non-extensible section and an elastic resilient section; one end of the cable is connected to an anchorage device stationed adjacent the player. In another example, a self-activation portal system determines an identifier of an owner of an account associated with an identifier provided by a user of a mobile device to be activated for use with a mobile wireless service. The system sends a message to the account owner offering options to accept or decline the activation request.

A mobile device pass through for signaling messages procedure allows smart devices to participate in and control multimedia communications by providing the ability to control multimedia communications to the smart device by the mobile device. A mobile device and a smart device establish a channel of communications between the mobile device and a web browser executing on the smart device, e.g. when both are connected to the same Wi-Fi access point. When the web browser accesses a web application that utilizes signaling messages to control multimedia content, the web browser will send signaling message requests to the mobile device. The mobile device, in turn, generates and forwards the signaling message. Media content is delivered directly to the smart device without passing through the mobile device or the established channel of communications.

In some implementations, a proxy server receives, from a computing device different from a mobile device, a request from a user to process a web payment via a payment account associated with the mobile device, the web payment being associated with an online merchant. The proxy server verifies that the mobile device is associated with the user. The proxy server transmits, to a commerce server of the online merchant, payment information for the web payment in response to verifying that the mobile device is associated with the user.
