System And Method For Creating Replacements For Obsolete Computer Chips

US Patent:
7276931, Oct 2, 2007
Filed:
Mar 25, 2005
Appl. No.:
11/089250
Inventors:
In Young Choi - Plymouth Meeting PA, US
International Classification:
H03K 19/003
H03K 19/173
US Classification:
326 10, 326 38
Abstract:
A system and method for replacing a malfunctioning logic device with a substitute logic device. The system provides a replacement assembly that contains a complex programmable logic device, a programming port and a pin configuration. The pin configuration selected matches the pin configuration of the malfunctioning logic device being replaced. The programming port on the replacement assembly is attached to a computer. Using software on the computer, the complex programmable logic device can be programmed with the same logic functions as were present within the malfunctioning logic device. Consequently, a single replacement assembly can be used to replace hundreds of different types of logic devices. This provided a cost efficient manner to produce replacements for obsolete logic devices that are no longer commercially available.

Racket Assembly That Warns Of A Fatigued String Condition

US Patent:
7326133, Feb 5, 2008
Filed:
Oct 7, 2005
Appl. No.:
11/244851
Inventors:
In Young Choi - Plymouth Meeting PA, US
International Classification:
A63B 49/00
US Classification:
473553
Abstract:
A racket assembly having a racket head that is supported by a handle. A string is strung across the racket head forming a string face. The string used in the string face is statistically likely to fail after the string face has been impacted a precalculated number of times. At least one sensor is provided for sensing when the racket head experiences a change in acceleration that exceeds a predetermined threshold level. A logic circuit creates a count corresponding to the number of times the sensor detects a change in acceleration in excess of the predetermined threshold level. An indicator is provided that creates an indication when the count approaches the precalculated number. In this manner, a person is warned when the string of the racket is statistically likely to fail.

Racket Orientation Indicator Device And Associated Method Of Operation

US Patent:
2004007, Apr 22, 2004
Filed:
Oct 21, 2002
Appl. No.:
10/274349
Inventors:
In Choi - Plymouth Meeting PA, US
International Classification:
A63B049/00
A63B059/00
A63B059/04
US Classification:
473/553000
Abstract:
A device and method for determining whether or not the string face of a racket is held in a vertical plane as the racket is swung. At least one sensor is attached to a racket. The sensors detect when the string face of the racket is in a vertical plane and when the string face deviates from that vertical plane. An indicator is also attached to the racket, wherein the indicator produces a perceivable indication to the user of the racket wher activated. A logic circuit is used to connect the sensors to the indicator. When the sensors detect that the string face of the racket has wandered from the vertical plane, the indicator is activated and the player holding the racket is informed of the lapse in form. By repeatedly swinging the racket and trying to avoid activating the indicator, a player can train to have a proper level swing.

Racket Device And Associated Method Of Stringing A Racket

US Patent:
5863267, Jan 26, 1999
Filed:
Dec 24, 1997
Appl. No.:
8/998197
Inventors:
In Y. Choi - Norristown PA
International Classification:
A63B 5112
US Classification:
473540
Abstract:
A racket is provided such as that used in the game of tennis, racquetball, squash, badminton and the like. The racket has a frame head that defines the periphery of a generally oblong shaped area. A plurality of apertures are periodically disposed along the frame head. In one embodiment, a plurality of set screws are disposed in the frame head. Each of the set screws intersects a separate one of the apertures and selectively obstructs that aperture depending upon the tightened condition of the set screws. In an alternate embodiment, a separate structure is provided that surrounds the head frame. The separate structure contains apertures and set screws that intersect the apertures. The opposing ends of individual strings are fed through apertures on opposite sides of the head frame. The string is tensioned to a predetermined value. Once at the desired tension, the set screws are used to engage the string and retain it in place at the set tension.

Fasting Mimicking Diet (Fmd) As An Immunoregulatory Treatment For Gastrointestinal Autoimmune/Inflammatory Diseases

US Patent:
2017032, Nov 16, 2017
Filed:
May 11, 2017
Appl. No.:
15/592705
Inventors:
- Los Angeles CA, US
IN YOUNG CHOI - LOS ANGELES CA, US
International Classification:
A23L 33/00
A23L 33/00
Abstract:
A method for treating autoimmune and/or inflammatory diseases includes a step of identifying a subject having a gastrointestinal autoimmune/inflammatory disease. A fasting mimicking diet (FMD) is administered to the subject for a first time period.

Autoimmunity And Multiple Sclerosis Treatment

US Patent:
2017002, Feb 2, 2017
Filed:
Apr 2, 2015
Appl. No.:
15/301480
Inventors:
- Los Angeles CA, US
In Young CHOI - Garden Grove CA, US
Assignee:
UNIVERSITY OF SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA - Los Angeles CA
International Classification:
A23L 33/00
G01N 33/564
Abstract:
A method for alleviating a symptom of multiple sclerosis or other autoimmune or inflammatory disease includes a step of identifying a subject having multiple sclerosis or other autoimmune diseases. A fasting mimicking diet is administered to the subject for a first predetermined time period, the fasting mimicking diet providing less than 50% of the subject's normal caloric intake. A non-fasting diet is administered to the subject for a second time period following the first time period. The non-fasting diet provides the subject greater than 60 percent of the subject's normal caloric intake but a calorie intake necessary for the subject to return to a normal healthy weight.
