Method And Apparatus For Playing Casino Poker Game

US Patent:
6705613, Mar 16, 2004
Filed:
Sep 20, 2002
Appl. No.:
10/247987
Inventors:
John E. Wirth - Worth IL, 60482
International Classification:
A63F 100
US Classification:
273274, 273292, 273309
Abstract:
A casino game, based on the rules of poker, wherein each player is dealt five cards, with an option to utilize a sixth card to improve the five-card hand. The game provides a player with three opportunities to win: 1) head-to-head competition against the dealer, with the higher poker hand winning; 2) competition for a common pot among the players, the amount of the pot increasing until a player has a hand of three-of-a-kind or better; and 3) bonus payments for long-odds hands (e. g. , straight or better). Because no player has an opportunity to increase his/her wager during play, the game proceeds rapidly.

Method For Playing Casino Poker Game

US Patent:
7360766, Apr 22, 2008
Filed:
Aug 18, 2005
Appl. No.:
11/208236
Inventors:
John E. Wirth - Worth IL, US
International Classification:
A63F 1/00
US Classification:
273292, 273274, 463 13
Abstract:
A casino game, based on the rules of poker, wherein each player is dealt five cards, with an option to utilize a sixth card to improve the five-card hand. The players pay a percentage of their ante wager, e. g. , 10% or 20%, for the right to use a sixth card, and the dealer pays a set fee, e. g. , $0. 50, $1. 00, or $2. 00 for the right to use a sixth card. The game provides a player with multiple opportunities to win: 1) head-to-head competition against the dealer, with the higher poker hand winning; 2) competition for a common pot among the players with the highest player-to-player poker hand winning the common pot on each deal and, optionally, a bonus payment for long-odds hands (e. g. , straight or better). Because no player has an opportunity to increase his/her initial wager after the cards are dealt, the game proceeds rapidly.
