Rapid Ignition Air Assisted Charcoal Grill With Waste Disposal

US Patent:
7305982, Dec 11, 2007
Filed:
Jun 17, 2004
Appl. No.:
10/871859
Inventors:
James Lee Gross - Placentia CA, US
International Classification:
A47J 37/07
A47J 37/00
US Classification:
126 25B, 126 25 R
Abstract:
The present invention is a cooking grill having as its cooking fuel source charcoal, wood, or similar solid fuels and comprised of devices for acceleration of ignition and temperature elevation of the solid fuels so as to lessen cooking preparation time and increase cooking efficiency of said grill. The invention is directed to a barbecue unit capable of accelerated ignition and burn time of charcoal, wood chip, or similar fuel. The unit is comprised of an accelerated ignition system having an ignition box, heating element, plurality of transportable fuel baskets, basket transfer tool, high-pressure forced air supply device, automatic sequenced timer, and ignition air diverter. The unit is further comprised of supporting racks affixed to the shell of the unit and operable to hold the transportable fuel baskets in a plurality of configurations such that heat can be applied directly or indirectly in the cooking of the food. In addition, the barbecue unit of the present invention is comprised of a waste removal system for clean up of the unit after cooking, said waste removal system being capable of processing and disposing of ash, grease, food, and other waste remaining in the unit after the cooking.

Modular Counter Assembly

US Patent:
7497531, Mar 3, 2009
Filed:
Dec 31, 2004
Appl. No.:
11/027995
Inventors:
James Lee Gross - San Clemente CA, US
International Classification:
A47B 87/00
US Classification:
312107, 3122571, 3121401, 126 8, 126 25 R, 126 9 R, 126 37 R, 403205, 403295, 403403, 403397
Abstract:
The present invention is a modular construction method for enclosures and counter assemblies. The counter assembly has a series of modules, which can be added or removed at will. The counter assembly comprises an innovative metal framework having modules connected by angled splices to enhance customization into variable shapes and sizes. Cross-supporting framework and perimeter rails may be added to incorporate customized components for drawers, shelving, appliances, storage, access doors, vents, and the like. The framework is capable of supporting countertops formed in a shape corresponding to the shape of the modular assembly. Side panels may be supported on the framework for purposes of enclosing the assembly, said panels being attached by a plurality of metal clips designed to fit into the metal framework with extensions designed to secure the side panels. The framework and components of the counter assembly are moveable, rearrangeable, and replaceable.

Quick Ignition System

US Patent:
2012025, Oct 4, 2012
Filed:
Aug 2, 2011
Appl. No.:
13/196804
Inventors:
James Lee Gross - San Clemente CA, US
Mark Klein - Santa Ana CA, US
International Classification:
F23Q 7/02
US Classification:
431 2, 431254
Abstract:
An ignition system with means for quick ignition is provided. The ignition system includes a hollow body having a first opening and a second opening; an ignition element for inducing combustion of a solid combustible material at the second opening; a current source electrically coupled to the ignition element; and a blower at the first opening, wherein the blower is configured to induce air flow from the first opening to the second opening.

Bioabsorbable Threaded Soft Tissue Anchor System

US Patent:
6096060, Aug 1, 2000
Filed:
May 20, 1999
Appl. No.:
9/315415
Inventors:
Steven E. Fitts - Ridge Manor FL
A. Frank Trott - Largo FL
James Gross - Tampa FL
Lloyd Diamond - Tampa FL
Steven T. Jones - Bradenton FL
Sharon K. Anderson - St. Petersburg FL
Assignee:
Linvatec Corporation - Largo FL
International Classification:
A61B 1704
US Classification:
606232
Abstract:
A bioabsorbable soft tissue anchor system comprising a cannulated soft tissue anchor for being turned through soft tissue, and a driver for driving the anchor and method for attaching soft tissue at a selected site of implantation. The soft tissue anchor is an elongated unitary body having a threaded distal section, a non-threaded proximal section, a transverse proximal head and a non-circular axial throughbore. The threaded section has a cancellous-type thread which has a uniform minor diameter, a large pitch and a large major diameter, the distal end of the thread being tapered toward the distal end of the anchor. The proximal end of the threaded section abuts the non-threaded section which is tapered and extends proximally to the transverse head. The anchor is used with a driver having a driving shaft with a pointed tip and a cross-section adapted to engage the anchor's axial throughbore. The driving shaft is longer than the anchor so that the anchor may be placed on the shaft leaving the tip exposed to permit tissue to be pierced and placed adjacent a pre-formed hole at the site of implantation.

Cooking Grill Ignition System

US Patent:
2015028, Oct 15, 2015
Filed:
Jun 23, 2015
Appl. No.:
14/748145
Inventors:
James Gross - San Clemente CA, US
International Classification:
A47J 37/07
Abstract:
An Electro-Mechanical Pulse Generator (“EMPG”) may be used to ignite an ignition pad comprising of fine carbon steel fibers. When electrical energy is applied to the carbon steel fibers, the carbon steel ignites thus starting the combustion of the fuel in a fuel basket located within the grill's combustion chamber. An electrical control panel connects an energy source such as a battery with an ignition wire positioned within the combustion chamber of the grill. A fan positioned below or near the fuel basket controls the amount of air flow into the combustion chamber to aid in initially lighting the fuel as well as controlling the temperature of the grill and the amount of combustion used to heat the food that is cooking.

Fire Starting System

US Patent:
2015022, Aug 13, 2015
Filed:
Feb 9, 2015
Appl. No.:
14/617495
Inventors:
James Gross - San Clemente CA, US
International Classification:
C10L 11/04
F23Q 3/00
Abstract:
This invention teaches an ignition pad comprising metallic strands or fibers that may be woven with other non-metallic fibers or organic materials that can provide combustible fuel. The ignition pad may comprise strands of a metallic fiber such as steel wool along with other non-metallic fibers or organic materials that combust and burn.Ideally, fine steel works better than coarse steel wool as the fine metallic fibers can cross circuit as well as provide greater resistance when an electrical current is applied. A cooking grill or fire pit comprising an electrical ignition system may provide electric current to the ignition pads so that when current is applied, the metallic fibers in the ignition pads combust catching the organic materials within the ignition pads to burn, thus providing (1) heat for cooking or (2) flame for enjoyment if used as a fire pit.
