Dayco Products, LLC - Miamisburg OH
International Classification:
F16H 712
US Classification:
474135
Abstract:
A belt tensioner for a power transmission belt is provided that operates on an endless path and that utilizes asymmetric motion control. The belt tensioner has an arm with a belt engaging section and a drum section, a support member for securing the tensioner relative to the belt, where the arm pivots about the support member, and a tension spring that urges the arm to pivot about the support member in a first direction and urges the belt engaging section against the belt with a force to tension the belt. The belt tensioner further comprises a cavity between the arm and the support member and a bushing comprising a bowed flange positioned in the cavity.

Belt Tensioner With Integral Damping

US Patent:

Inventors:
James G. Quintus - Springfield MO, US
Assignee:
Dayco Products, LLC - Miamisburg OH
International Classification:
F16H 7/18
US Classification:
474135
Abstract:
A belt tensioner with integral damping comprising a housing, a pivot bushing, a spring element, a disc-shaped spring bushing, a lever arm assembly, a pulley assembly, an armplate assembly including an armplate and a friction element; wherein the armplate assembly comprises an armplate having a cup-shaped cavity including a circumferential edge and a plurality of spaced apart finger elements extending from said circumferential edge wherein the finger elements are configured to provide a high degree of damping in a radial direction. , and a friction element disposed between the fingers elements and the armplate, the friction element providing at least one contact area having increased friction between the lever arm and the armplate.

Ignition Source System For An Exothermic Reaction Mold Device

US Patent:
7975900, Jul 12, 2011
Filed:
Jul 26, 2010
Appl. No.:
12/843377
Inventors:
David Lewis Lofton - Tulsa OK, US
James Quintus - Springfield MO, US
Assignee:
Continental Industries, Inc. - Tulsa OK
International Classification:
B23K 3/00
F23Q 3/00
US Classification:
228 51, 2282343, 266167, 361247
Abstract:
An ignition source system for an exothermic reaction mold device for welding conductors. The system includes a crucible in a block with an open top so that the crucible receives an exothermic weld material. The conductors to be welded exothermically are placed in the weld cavity of the mold. A lid covers the open top wherein the lid has an opening therethrough. An electronic thermal igniter assembly has an ignition component receivable through the opening in the lid so that the exothermic weld material may be ignited by the electronic thermal igniter assembly. The igniter plug rests on top of the lid and the ignition body is retained in a recess within the igniter plug.

Belt Tensioner With Damping Member

US Patent:
8123640, Feb 28, 2012
Filed:
Aug 18, 2010
Appl. No.:
12/858548
Inventors:
James G. Quintus - Springfield MO, US
Robert C. Joslyn - Nixa MO, US
Assignee:
Dayco Products, LLC - Tulsa OK
International Classification:
F16H 7/12
US Classification:
474135
Abstract:
A tensioner for tensioning a belt includes a support housing at least in part defining a spring cavity. A damping member having a first friction bearing surface is at least partially disposed in the spring cavity. An arm pivotally attached to the support housing has a second friction bearing surface. A spring is located in the spring cavity and operatively connected to the arm and damping member to pivot the damping member about a pivot location such that the first friction bearing surface of the damping member is biased against the second friction bearing surface of the arm to dampen relative movement between the arm and the support housing.
