D3 LED, LLC - Union City NJ
International Classification:
G09G 5/00
US Classification:
345 13, 345 11, 345 12
Abstract:
An apparatus for allowing display modules to communicate information about themselves to other display modules in the same display panel, comprising a module-based display panel wherein each face of the panel comprises a plurality of display modules, wherein the transmitters, receivers and/or transceivers are configured so that each transmitter or transceiver on a given display module is adjacent to a receiver or transceiver on an adjacent display module, wherein the transmitters or transceivers on a given display module transmit information about that display module to the adjacent receivers or transceivers, wherein the receivers or transceivers on a given display module receive information about the adjacent display module from the adjacent transmitters or transceivers, and wherein the information is used by the display modules and/or a main controller to determine the location of the display module within a display panel.

Led Billboard Controller With Integrated Sign Interface Module

US Patent:
2006005, Mar 16, 2006
Filed:
Jun 23, 2005
Appl. No.:
11/159817
Inventors:
Bryan Robertus - Bozeman MT, US
Jason Daughenbaugh - Bozeman MT, US
Jason Kay - Belgrade MT, US
Jon Koon - Belgrade MT, US
Anthony Lukes - Bozeman MT, US
Brett Swimley - Bozeman MT, US
Assignee:
BILLBOARD VIDEO, INC. - Dallas TX
International Classification:
G09G 3/32
US Classification:
345082000
Abstract:
An apparatus that supports operation of an LED sign includes a backplane that connects a backplane frame output of a first video data processor circuit card to a backplane frame input of a second video data processor circuit card, and also connects a backplane frame output of the second video data processor circuit card to a backplane frame input of a sign interface circuit card. Each video data processor circuit card includes a video source input, and the sign interface circuit card includes a video data output for coupling to distribution boards located at the sign. The backplane architecture provides flexible scalability by permitting the addition of further video data processor circuit cards and further sign interface circuit cards in any desired configuration.

Led Display Modules With Pixel Designs For Enhanced Visual Quality Of Virtual Pixels

US Patent:
2006005, Mar 16, 2006
Filed:
Jun 23, 2005
Appl. No.:
11/165567
Inventors:
Jason Daughenbaugh - Bozeman MT, US
Bryan Robertus - Bozeman MT, US
Assignee:
BILLBOARD VIDEO, INC. - Dallas TX
International Classification:
G09G 3/32
US Classification:
345082000
Abstract:
An LED visual display apparatus includes a plurality of LED pixels arranged in a generally rectangular array and each having a substantially identical construction. A controller controls groups of the LEDs to produce virtual pixels. In some instances, the construction of each LED pixel consists of 6 to 9 LEDs, inclusive, includes a plurality of red LEDs, a plurality of green LEDs and at least one blue LED, and has more red LEDs than green LEDs. In some instances, the array includes rows of LEDs that consist only of green and blue LEDs which define a repeating green-green-blue pattern. In some instances, the array includes rows of LEDs that consist only of red and green LEDs which define a repeating red-red-green pattern.
