Filed:
Oct 5, 2001
Appl. No.:
09/972713
Inventors:
Richard A Fox - Los Angeles CA, US
Jerry Whittemore - Los Angeles CA, US
International Classification:
A61K 7/035
A61K 7/00
US Classification:
424401, 424 69, 424 701
Abstract:
The present invention relates to compositions and methods for removing an epidermal portion of the skin of a patient by microdermabrasion with a crystalline emulsion. The crystalline emulsion includes a mixture of coated crystals and a carrier. The coated crystals are formed by combining magnesium oxide, aluminum oxide or a combination of the two with methicone, adding a catalyst, such as ammonia, and mixing, then baking the resulting slurry mixture until the mixture is dry. The coated crystals are able to stay in the emulsion in a carrier.

Topical Cosmetic Compositions Containing Alpha Arbutin

US Patent:
7431949, Oct 7, 2008
Filed:
May 8, 2007
Appl. No.:
11/745632
Inventors:
Arnold Neis - New York NY, US
Robert Neis - New York NY, US
Jerry Whittemore - Los Angeles CA, US
Assignee:
E.T. Browne Drug Co., Inc. - Engelwood Cliffs NJ
International Classification:
A01N 65/00
US Classification:
424725
Abstract:
This invention is a topical tyrosinase inhibiting combination using alpha arbutin and bearberry extract, in synergism, for the purpose of skin lightening. The active admixture is a dermatological serum comprised of alpha arbutin, octyl stearate and polyolprepolymer-2, introduced onto the human skin in liposome form for ultra-deep penetration.

Dermatologic Composition Using Ultra-Fine/Micronized 1-Ascorbic Acid And Other Antioxidant Ingredients In A Stabilized Anhydrous Vehicle

US Patent:
2004006, Apr 1, 2004
Filed:
Sep 26, 2002
Appl. No.:
10/256022
Inventors:
Jerry Whittemore - Los Angeles CA, US
Robert Strom - Rancho Mirage CA, US
International Classification:
A61K031/375
A61K031/74
A61K009/00
US Classification:
424/400000, 514/474000
Abstract:
This composition is a topical admixture of submicron vitamin C in percentages of 40.001%-70% by weight with exceptional biological activity, and exhibiting deep transdermal penetration. Using sodium ascorbate admixed with the 1-ascorbic acid reduces the epidermal irritation of high concentrations of total vitamin C. The sodium ascorbate naturally buffers the acidity of 100% 1-ascorbic acid Polyolprepolymer-2 enhances the epidermal penetration.

Kojic Dipalmitate Skin Whitening Comestic Composition

US Patent:
5824327, Oct 20, 1998
Filed:
Apr 6, 1998
Appl. No.:
/055489
Inventors:
Jerry Whittemore - Los Angeles CA

A skin whitening cosmetic composition of kojic dipalmitate. When used in an anhydrous cream, the kojic dipalmitate is present in parts by weight from 0. 01 to 25%, more particularly 0. 2 to 8. 0% and most preferably 0. 4 to 4. 0%. When forming an anhydrous serum, one uses the same kojic dipalmitate concentration but of a much lower viscosity. To form an anhydrous ointment, the same concentrations are used with 2-8% wax from each of the following wax groups: microcrystalline wax; animal waxes such as beeswax; vegetable waxes such as rice wax; and, hydrocarbon waxes such as paraffin. The same kojic dipalmitate concentration may be used with anhydrous alcohol to form a fine anhydrous spray.
