Low Profile Articulating Mounting System

US Patent:
8561955, Oct 22, 2013
Filed:
Dec 14, 2009
Appl. No.:
12/637018
Inventors:
James Michael Stemple - Marengo IL, US
Assignee:
Peerless Industries, Inc. - Aurora IL
International Classification:
E04G 3/00
US Classification:
2482781, 2482821, 2482841, 2482761, 36167901
Abstract:
A device mount for affixing a device to a surface such as a wall. The device mount has a surface bracket, an articulation mechanism, and a device mount plate. In various embodiments, the device mount further includes a tilt assembly. The surface mount bracket includes an upper surface bracket, a lower surface bracket and a vertical support positioned there between and connected to the lower all bracket and the upper surface bracket. The articulation mechanism has an inner articulating arm pivotally connected to the surface mount bracket and an outer articulating arm is rotatably connected to the inner articulating arm such that it maybe disposed substantially within a void of the inner articulating arm. The tilt assembly is connected to the outer articulating arm and pivotally connected to the device mount plate that is adapted to have a device mounted thereto, such that the device mount plate is selectively tiltable. The tilt assembly may comprise at least one friction hinge that substantially maintains the tilt angle of the device mount plate.

Moveable Mounting System

US Patent:
2010017, Jul 8, 2010
Filed:
Dec 11, 2009
Appl. No.:
12/636256
Inventors:
Donald Anderson - Oak Park IL, US
Garry Monaco - Hoffman Estates IL, US
James Stemple - Marengo IL, US
International Classification:
F16M 13/02
E05D 11/08
US Classification:
248201
Abstract:
A low profile moveable mounting system for mounting a device to a surface. According to various embodiments, a surface bracket is operatively connected to a surface member attachable to a surface, one or more hinged translation assemblies are rotatably connected to the surface bracket and rotatably connected to a device bracket adapted for operative connection to a device, and a link member rotatably connected to the surface bracket and the device bracket. The moveable mounting system is selectively tiltable and moveable between an extended orientation, where the device bracket is displaced substantially perpendicular from the surface and a retracted orientation, where the device bracket is positionable proximate the surface. The moveable mounting system may be particularly adapted for mounting a flat panel display device.

Adjustment Mechanism For Use With Mounting Systems For Audio/Visual Devices Or The Like

US Patent:
2013005, Mar 7, 2013
Filed:
Sep 7, 2011
Appl. No.:
13/226778
Inventors:
James M. Stemple - Marengo IL, US
Grant Wylie - Plainfield IL, US
International Classification:
H05K 7/00
E05D 11/10
F16M 13/00
US Classification:
2482821, 24828911, 16319, 16322
Abstract:
An adjustment mechanism for use in a mounting system comprising a first mounting portion configured to operatively connect to the audio/visual device and a second mounting portion configured to attach to the first mounting portion and to a mounting surface. The adjustment mechanism operatively connects the first mounting portion to the second mounting portion. The adjustment mechanism includes a housing with a bore formed therein, a clutch positioned within the housing, and a rotatable shaft positioned within the housing and being operatively connected to the first mounting portion. The shaft is configured to rotate within the bore relative to the housing. The shaft is rotatable within the bore in a first rotational direction through the clutch with a first torque, and the shaft is also rotatable within the bore in a second rotational direction through the clutch with a second torque.
