Motor Vehicle Door Handle Apparatus And Method Of Installation

US Patent:
6594861, Jul 22, 2003
Filed:
Jul 20, 2001
Appl. No.:
09/910459
Inventors:
Steven J. Dimig - Plymouth WI
John K. Feuerstein - Racine WI
Assignee:
Strattec Security Corporation - Milwaukee WI
International Classification:
E05B 100
US Classification:
16412, 292347, 2923363
Abstract:
In some preferred embodiments of the present invention, a fastener on a door handle assembly having a door handle is moved by actuation of the door handle into a position in which the fastener connects the door handle assembly to the door. The door handle is preferably capable of transmitting door handle actuation force to the fastener to move the fastener. In one preferred embodiment, this force is transmitted by camming action against a sliding member to which the fastener is connected. In another embodiment, this force is transmitted by pulling a sliding member with links connected to the handle. The movable fastener can connect with a second fastener connected to the door handle assembly or to the door. Therefore, when the movable fastener is moved by actuation of the handle, the movable fastener can connect with the second fastener to secure the door handle assembly to the door.

Fluid Pump

US Patent:
8162632, Apr 24, 2012
Filed:
Oct 31, 2007
Appl. No.:
11/931017
Inventors:
Devlin Hunt - Winthrop Harbor IL, US
John Feuerstein - Racine WI, US
Tony Urbanik - Kenosha WI, US
Assignee:
BRP US Inc. - Sturtevant
International Classification:
F04B 37/00
US Classification:
417465, 91493, 418 68
Abstract:
A pump is disclosed, having a pumping chamber in the rotor. The rotor is rotatable between first, second, third and fourth positions. When the rotor is in the first position, an inlet cam assembly displaces a piston to draw fluid into the pumping chamber via a first housing inlet. When the rotor is in the second position, an outlet cam assembly displaces the piston to expel fluid out of the pumping chamber via a first housing outlet. When the rotor is in the third position, the inlet cam lobe assembly displaces the piston to draw fluid into the pumping chamber via a second housing inlet. When the rotor is in the fourth position, the outlet cam assembly displaces the piston to expel fluid out of the pumping chamber via a second housing outlet. A method of pumping fluid is also disclosed.

Fuel-Injected Engine And Method Of Assembly Thereof

US Patent:
8327827, Dec 11, 2012
Filed:
Oct 31, 2007
Appl. No.:
11/932164
Inventors:
Devlin Hunt - Winthrop Harbor IL, US
John Feuerstein - Racine WI, US
Assignee:
BRP US Inc. - Sturtevant WI
International Classification:
F02M 61/04
US Classification:
123445, 123456, 123514
Abstract:
An internal combustion engine is disclosed, having at least one combustion chamber disposed in an engine casing. At least one fuel injector is mounted to the engine casing for supplying fuel to the at least one combustion chamber. The at least one fuel injector has at least one fuel supply inlet. A fuel supply assembly is mounted to the at least one fuel injector. The assembly is mounted adjacent to the at least one fuel injector for supplying the fuel to the fuel injector. The assembly has at least one fuel supply outlet. The assembly is mounted to the at least one fuel injector by a cooperative fit, such that the at least one fuel supply inlet and the at least one fuel supply outlet align in a sealed relationship to allow fluid communication therebetween. A method of assembling an engine is also disclosed.

Modular Vehicle Door Lock And Latch System And Method

US Patent:
2004014, Jul 29, 2004
Filed:
Jan 14, 2004
Appl. No.:
10/757053
Inventors:
Steven Dimig - Plymouth WI, US
John Feuerstein - Racine WI, US
Assignee:
STRATTEC SECURITY CORPORATION - Milwaukee WI
International Classification:
E05B013/00
US Classification:
070/208000, 070/237000
Abstract:
A locking and latching system is disclosed in which some of the components of the system can be pre-assembled prior to installation into the structural framework of a vehicle door. The construction of the lock and latch system of the present invention can include outside and inside door handles, outside and inside locks, the door latch itself, as well as linkages between these components. The components of the present invention can further facilitate the assembly process by being of a design which simplifies the process of installing them into the structural framework of a vehicle door without requiring the use of specialized tools, thereby reducing labor costs associated with assembly.
