Catheter Shroud With Conduit, Collector And Improvements

US Patent:
6585721, Jul 1, 2003
Filed:
Feb 21, 2001
Appl. No.:
09/790387
Inventors:
John M Fiore - Troy NY, 12180
International Classification:
A61M 2700
US Classification:
604544, 604171, 604271
Abstract:
A flexible, membranous envelope, in a shroud-conduit-collector configuration for sheathing a catheter. In basic mode, the shroud, which essentially envelops the catheter, is partially disposable in an end of the catheter and is extractable therefrom by manipulation of the user. The shroud joins the conduit, that terminates in an integral, yet separable collector. To cure the basic modes sole limitation, possible infusion of urethra secretions into the opening of the incipiently inserted catheter, a plurality of leaves are attached by their base margins to the shroud exterior, near enough to the inserted opening that their unattached, leading margins can be folded by interleaving them over, and covering, the opening. By this device, an alternate embodiment avoids the catheter-disposed shroud. Other devices are integrated to facilitate manipulation, as well as to aid in after-use separation, sealing and handling of the collector.

Inspection System And Method Of Making And Using Same

US Patent:
7596419, Sep 29, 2009
Filed:
Nov 18, 2005
Appl. No.:
11/282739
Inventors:
John S. Fiore - Bartlesville OK, US
John M. Bailey - Collinsville OK, US
Robert E. Bagot - Arkansas City KS, US
Assignee:
SGS North America Inc. - Rutherford NJ
International Classification:
G06F 19/00
US Classification:
700110, 700182, 700160
Abstract:
An inspection system adapted to perform retro positive material identification of components of a multi-feature system. The inspection system comprises an electronic drawing, a positive material identification database, a field load sheet and a data logger. The electronic drawing has tagged locations identifying respective features of the multi-feature system to be read for retro positive material identification analysis. The electronic drawing has at least one unique identification code for each tagged location. The positive material identification database has component information records for respective components. Each component information record correlated to a component associated with one tagged location of the electronic drawing. The field load sheet has identification codes for respective tagged locations. The identification codes of the field load sheet are correlated to the component information records of the positive material identification database.

Introducer For Sterile Insertion Of Catheter

US Patent:
5792114, Aug 11, 1998
Filed:
Dec 16, 1996
Appl. No.:
8/766988
Inventors:
John M. Fiore - Troy NY
International Classification:
A61M 2501
US Classification:
604171
Abstract:
A sterile envelope-dispensing catheter introducer. A tubular introducer, through which a catheter is passed, dispenses a membranous shroud, or envelope, from within and out a distal opening thereof. The shroud is withdrawn by manipulation or by the urging of a body organ pressing against a shroud entrainment device. Interposition of the convolutionally rearward transported shroud over (and between) the introducer's distal portion (and the body internal organ surfaces) assures a sterile catheter passage through the introducer and into the organ.

Integral Shroud-Collector For Urinary Catheter

US Patent:
6217569, Apr 17, 2001
Filed:
May 10, 1999
Appl. No.:
9/307831
Inventors:
John M. Fiore - Troy NY
International Classification:
A61M 2700
US Classification:
604544
Abstract:
A flexible, tubular envelope, termed a "shroud", for sheathing a catheter. The shroud, passing over the entire catheter, is partially disposable in the distal end of the catheter and is extractable therefrom by manipulation of the user. The shroud terminates in a closed end that includes an integral collector, a pouch/container, which has no specific definition. Devices are integrated into the shroud to aid in its manipulation, as well as in the later separation and sealing of the collector.
