Abstract:
A shoe ( ) includes a heel base ( ) having a front surface ( ); a plate ( ) having a front portion ( ) and a rear portion ( ) adjoining at a angle ( ) of less than 90 degrees; and at least one replaceable heel ( ). The replaceable heel ( ) has a slot ( ) in which the rear portion ( ) of the plate ( ) may be inserted. The front portion ( ) of the plate ( ) is attached to the front surface ( ) of the heel base ( ) so the replaceable heel ( ) can be slid on or off the rear portion ( ) of the plate. In one embodiment, the sole ( ) of the shoe ( ) has one or more gaps ( ) to enable it to flex as heel height is changed. In one embodiment, the shoes upper ( ) has a flexible strip ( ) to curtail the strain on the upper ( ) caused by changing heel heights. In one embodiment, a sliding restraint ( ) at the back of the shoe ( ) prevents the heel ( ) from slipping off during wear.
