The account portfolio comprises one or more customer accounts. A change in value for each of the one or more customer accounts is determined over a defined period. The one or more transactions represent asset activity associated with one or more customer accounts. One or more account rates of return are determined for each of the one or more customer accounts over the defined period. A portfolio rate of return is determined for the customer's account portfolio over the defined period. The portfolio rate of return and the one or more account rates of return are communicated to a reporting system.
