Intelligent Call Management And Redirection

US Patent:
8576270, Nov 5, 2013
Filed:
Oct 11, 2005
Appl. No.:
11/246956
Inventors:
John M. Vitale - Monroe Township NJ, US
Stuart Morris - South Plainfield NJ, US
Assignee:
Glowpoint, Inc. - Murray Hill NJ
International Classification:
H04N 7/14
H04M 1/64
H04M 11/00
H04M 3/42
US Classification:
348 1406, 348 1401, 379 8812, 379 8813, 37920101, 37920708
Abstract:
The disclosed systems and methods provide intelligent device inspection and interrogation in an application layer system to route packet-based network calls. These systems and methods can be used to detect the status of a specified endpoint. Endpoint devices can be configured to communicate status information to a central call manager. Endpoints can also be periodically polled to request device information. Pre-defined rules applied at the central call manager can be used to process call flow based on the device information. These rules can be configured so that a call that is not completed for any reason can be transferred to another destination such as a video mail service or an automated or live operator service.

Round Rubber Champhering Ring

US Patent:
2008000, Jan 10, 2008
Filed:
Jun 21, 2007
Appl. No.:
11/766357
Inventors:
John Vitale - West Milford NJ, US
International Classification:
B22C 9/22
US Classification:
249 57
Abstract:
A continuous round, rubberized ring is employed to produce a champher, or beveled, edge on a concrete base. Initially concrete is poured into a cylindrical form and the ring pressed into the top side of the cylindrical form. Excess cement is removed with a trowel and the cement is allowed to harden. After the cement has hardened, the form is removed and the ring stripped off leaving an attractive and safe champher on the upper edge of the base. An alternative embodiment of the ring includes a lip that can be easily gripped so the ring can be removed from the hardened concrete base. The gripping lip also prevents the ring from falling below the upper rim of the mold when the concrete is in its wet, plastic state.

Management Of Live Media Connections

US Patent:
2020020, Jun 25, 2020
Filed:
Dec 21, 2018
Appl. No.:
16/230271
Inventors:
- Eatontown NJ, US
Jennifer R. Schell - Colts Neck NJ, US
John Mitchell Vitale - Mooresville NC, US
International Classification:
H04L 29/08
H04L 29/06
G16H 80/00
Abstract:
A peer-to-peer media sharing network is facilitated by a central controller which maintains a map of media stream devices acting as sources, destinations, and relays for media streams. The controller maintains a remote connection with each media stream device, monitoring operational status and modifying the map as required in response to conditions. Each media stream device manages its own remote peer connections with other media stream devices by, e.g., initiating a peer connection once both the destination node and the desired stream are available. For simplicity and rapid response to changing status conditions, the map may include node groups comprising various types of nodes, such as aggregation groups, distribution groups, and link groups. Media stream devices may autonomously alter connections within groups as necessary to maintain connections.
