The method for displaying and demonstrating an imaging device includes the steps of providing a holder for each imaging device on display, detecting displacement of any imaging device from any holder and connecting any imaging device displaced from any holder to a monitor in order to demonstrate the imaging device.

Circuit System For Switching Loudspeakers

US Patent:
5751818, May 12, 1998
Filed:
Sep 5, 1996
Appl. No.:
8/708515
Inventors:
Jonathan Gertz - Lexington KY
Mark S. Butcher - Paris KY
James M. Tuomy - Lexington KY
Assignee:
Audio Authority Corporation - Lexington KY
International Classification:
H03G 320
H04R 2700
US Classification:
381 55
Abstract:
A circuit system for selectively switching between main and remote loudspeakers includes a pair of input terminals for applying an input audio signal to the loudspeakers. A first selector switch contact is provided in series with the main loudspeakers. A second selector switch contact is provided in series with the remote loudspeakers. A current-dependent resistance element is provided in series with the remote loudspeakers to protect the remote loudspeakers from overdrive. The circuit system may also include a second current-dependent resistance element and a cooperating defeat switch contact as well as a resistor and associated load limiting switch contact all in series with the remote loudspeakers.

Switching Network For Selective Product Demonstration

US Patent:
5646602, Jul 8, 1997
Filed:
Jun 29, 1995
Appl. No.:
8/496903
Inventors:
Jonathan Gertz - Lexington KY
James M. Tuomy - Lexington KY
Assignee:
Audio Authority Corporation - Lexington KY
International Classification:
H04Q 100
US Classification:
34082525
Abstract:
A switching network for interconnecting selected products of different electronic groups on display for purposes of active demonstration includes a plurality of nodes. Each product on display is operatively connected to one node. Each node further includes a microcontroller. A bus operatively connects the microcontrollers together as well as the products on display. The bus allows two-way communication between the microcontrollers that supervise all network functions. Additionally, each of the nodes includes a product selector switch and cooperating relay for selectively activating an adjacent product connected to the node and an indicator lamp that when illuminated indicates that the corresponding electronic product is connected for active demonstration. The switching network also includes a switching noise suppression system, a novel circuit for operatively connecting the indicator lamp and a product selector switch of a node to a microcontroller utilizing only a single pair of conductors, an automatic volume calibration and sound pressure level limiting system and a theft detection system.

Solderless Electrical Connector

US Patent:
4944686, Jul 31, 1990
Filed:
May 1, 1989
Appl. No.:
7/345698
Inventors:
Jonathan Gertz - Lexington KY
Assignee:
Audio Authority Corporation - Lexington KY
International Classification:
H01R 1132
US Classification:
439175
Abstract:
A solderless connector includes a body member having a resilient collet for engaging an insulated electrical conductor. A securing sleeve includes mating threads for engagement with the body member. As the sleeve is tightened on the body member anchoring cams on the sleeve press the resilient collet into the insulation about the electrical conductor so as to securely hold the body member in position. A conductor spike, concentrically disposed within the collet and attached to the body member makes contact with the electrical conductor. The solderless conductor also includes a pin connector terminal for making electrical contact with an electrical apparatus. The pin connector terminal includes a frangible weakened zone so that the terminal may be broken off from the body member if desired. A threaded connection may then be utilized to mount an alternative terminal, such as a banana plug or spade terminal, to the body member.

Apparatus And Method For Interconnecting Electronic Products

US Patent:
5422631, Jun 6, 1995
Filed:
Apr 18, 1994
Appl. No.:
8/228941
Inventors:
Jonathan Gertz - Lexington KY
Assignee:
Audio Authority Corporation - Lexington KY
International Classification:
H04Q 100
US Classification:
34082525
Abstract:
A switching network including a plurality of nodes, one node connected to a product of different electronic product groups on display. Each node includes a satellite node microprocessor and a cooperating product selector switch for selectively actuating said cooperating connected electronic product. An indicator lamp is also provided at each node. Illumination of the lamp indicates an operating condition of the electronic product connected to the node. Further, each node includes an address memory to identify the node and the connected electronic product. The satellite node microprocessors of each node are operatively connected by a bus to a central control unit. The central control unit includes a host microprocessor for supervising all network functions and product selectors for actuating selected electronic products connected to the nodes. In accordance with the present method of interconnecting selected electronic products to establish a product system, is the assigning of an unique address number to each node and, hence, each connected electronic product. The method also includes the polling of the nodes to solicit service request messages from the nodes and the sending of product control commands to the nodes from the central control unit.
