G01F 1/00
US Classification:
73861
Abstract:
A device, system and method relating to dispensing fluid from a device. The system relates generally to a hand-held fluid dispensing module, a control module coupled to the hand-held fluid dispensing module, a fluid container located in close proximity to the hand-held fluid dispensing module and the control module, and a cooling module coupled to the control module. The hand-held device being configured to control and determine the amount of fluid dispensed from the device. The method relates to using the system and dispensing fluid from the hand-held fluid dispensing module by either applying pressure to an exterior portion of the hand-held dispensing module or providing a vacuum to the hand-held fluid dispensing module.

Hydration System

US Patent:
2013009, Apr 18, 2013
Filed:
Nov 30, 2012
Appl. No.:
13/690658
Inventors:
Joseph Bowling - Narberth PA, US
J. Michael Henderson - Berwyn PA, US
Daniel Todd Adlon - Harrisburg PA, US
Assignee:
ATP, INC. - Hummelstown PA
International Classification:
A47G 19/22
US Classification:
239 1
Abstract:
A device, system and method for dispensing fluid from a device usable for personal hydration in one embodiment. In various embodiments, the hydration system is configured to control the amount of fluid dispense to a user and preventing leakage from the device after a drinking event.

Method Of Making A Cable Assembly

US Patent:
4947546, Aug 14, 1990
Filed:
Mar 28, 1989
Appl. No.:
7/329470
Inventors:
Joseph M. Bowling - Carlisle PA
Matthew T. Miller - Harrisburg PA
Assignee:
AMP Incorporated - Harrisburg PA
International Classification:
H01R 4304
US Classification:
29861
Abstract:
The present invention is an automated method for making an electrical cable assembly including the automatic verification of insertion of each wire into its respective correct terminal and the automatic verification of the absence of short circuits. The overall system is controlled by a computer which is table driven by cable assembly parameters retained in a data base.

Safety Guard System For Machine Having A Ram

US Patent:
5560466, Oct 1, 1996
Filed:
Mar 31, 1995
Appl. No.:
8/414476
Inventors:
Kenneth F. Folk - Harrisburg PA
Joseph M. Bowling - Carlisle PA
Assignee:
The Whitaker Corporation - Wilmington DE
International Classification:
F16P 316
US Classification:
192130
Abstract:
A safety guard system provided for a machine having a ram which is movable toward and away from a work zone and an actuator which is operable for driving the ram through a ram stroke toward the work zone. The safety guard system includes a safety guard mounted for movement along a guard path between open and closed positions with respect to the work zone. The safety guard is releasably coupled to the ram for movement during the ram stroke from the open to the closed position before completion of the ram stroke, and the safety guard is arranged to decouple from the ram upon either one of reaching the closed position or earlier encountering an obstruction in the guard path. A guard sensor effects a first signal upon the safety guard reaching the closed position, and an object sensor effects a second signal upon decoupling of the safety guard from the ram. A controller is responsive to the first and second signals such that the controller enables completion of the ram stroke upon receiving the first signal, and the controller terminates the ram stroke upon receiving the second signal prior to receiving the first signal.

Single Cycle Positioning System

US Patent:
5449990, Sep 12, 1995
Filed:
Apr 26, 1993
Appl. No.:
8/052882
Inventors:
Joseph M. Bowling - Boiling Springs PA
Michael D. Strong - Mechanicsburg PA
Assignee:
The Whitaker Corporation - Wilmington DE
International Classification:
B66B 1314
US Classification:
318607
Abstract:
A single cycle positioning system utilizing a three phase wye connected induction motor (10) includes a three phase inverter (28) and a microprocessor (20) for controlling the inverter to generate three phases of power. Pulse width modulation techniques are utilized and in response to a start signal the frequency of the power to the motor is increased up to a running frequency, and in response to a stop signal the frequency of the power applied to the motor is decreased along with a corresponding reduction of the voltage applied to the motor.

Methods And Apparatus For Inspecting A Workpiece With Edge And Co-Planarity Determination

US Patent:
5929459, Jul 27, 1999
Filed:
Sep 23, 1997
Appl. No.:
8/935755
Inventors:
Keith A. Bocchicchio - Elizabethtown PA
Joseph M. Bowling - Carlisle PA
Assignee:
Synergistech, Inc. - Lewisberry PA
International Classification:
G01N 2186
US Classification:
25055934
Abstract:
Systems and methods for inspecting a workpiece, such as a surface mount device. The systems and methods can determine the height, edges, and centers of leads of the surface mount device. The systems and methods also permit lead co-linearity and/or co-planarity values to be derived with relatively good repeatability.

Configurable Light Output Controller, Method For Controlling Lights And A System For Implementing The Method And Including A Configurable Light Output Controller

Assignee:
Synergistech, Inc. - Lewisberry PA
International Classification:
H05B 3700
US Classification:
315312
Abstract:
A device and method for generating output trigger signals, for firing one or more light sources, from input trigger signals generated by a vision processor. The input trigger signals are first accepted from the vision processor. Next, output triggers are determined, in response to the input trigger signals, based on a stored lighting program. Finally the output trigger signals are generated based on the determined output triggers.

Flow Meter With Flow Direction Sensing, Separable Fluid Path, Submersible Electronic Housing, And Wireless Communication Capacity
