Joseph Cilento, CPA, CMB is a mortgage banking executive with over 25 years experience. Joe has directed all facets of the residential mortgage business. His experiences include sales, marketing, underwriting, operations, secondary marketing, and risk management. In 1997 he earned the distinction of becoming a Certified Mortgage Banker from the Mortgage Bankers Association of America. As the Chief Operating Officer for American Financial Resources, a leading national mortgage company, Joe Cilento has helped lead the organization to become one of the top FHA lenders in the United States. Since 2005, he has helped the Company expand its licensing to all 50 states, guided the Company's conversion to an FHA Direct Endorsement lender, Ginnie Mae issuer and servicer, and Fannie Mae lender and servicer. Previously, Joe was an industry consultant offering a broad range of mortgage services including capital formation, licensing, operational and secondary marketing services. He owned and managed his own start-up mortgage company which he sold to a bank in 1997, and prior to that served as Controller of Merrill Lynch Realty and Mortgage Corp. and earned his CPA license in 1978. Joe and his wife Diane have two grown children and have resided in Connecticut for many years.
