US Classification:
385 55, 385 73, 439717
Abstract:
An optical interconnection system, particularly useful in a backplane arrangement in an electronic assembly. The interconnection system includes “dual-use” protective covers for protection from damage and/or cleaning within backplane and daughter card style connectors. The protective covers are modular for easy use. Some versions contain adhesive members that can remove contaminates from various portions of the connector assembly. The protective covers can be inserted into a backplane connector of an electronic assembly using a tool or as part of a “dummy board. ”.

Abstract:
A ferrule assembly for terminating at least one fiber of a ribbon cable in a ferrule, where the ferrule assembly is disposable in a housing of an optical connector, is provided. The ferrule assembly includes the ferrule having a mating face, at least one groove for receiving the fiber and at least one through-hole. The ferrule assembly also includes an alignment member holder having at least one alignment member and providing a first channel for the ribbon cable, the alignment member being insertable in the through-hole of the ferrule and having a first length such that an end of the alignment member extends beyond the mating face of the ferrule when the ferrule assembly is assembled. The ferrule assembly further includes a carrier body attachable to the alignment member holder, the carrier body having at least two biasing member capture portions, each of the biasing member capture portions providing an opening for capturing a biasing member therein when the alignment member holder and the carrier body are attached. The carrier body further provides a second channel for the ribbon cable, the second channel being disposed between the biasing member capture portions of the carrier body and being contiguous with the first channel when the alignment member holder and the carrier body are attached.

Latching System With Single-Handed Operation For Connector Assembly

US Patent:
7753710, Jul 13, 2010

Ground Sleeve Having Improved Impedance Control And High Frequency Performance

US Patent:
7906730, Mar 15, 2011
Filed:
Sep 29, 2008
Appl. No.:
12/240577
Inventors:
Prescott Atkinson - Nottingham NH, US
Joseph George - Amherst NH, US
Assignee:
Amphenol Corporation - Wallingford CT
International Classification:
H02G 15/02
US Classification:
174 78
Abstract:
A waferized connector connects to two twinax cables. The connector includes a molded lead frame, ground sleeve, twinax cable, and overmolded strain relief. The lead frame is molded to retain a lead frame containing both differential signal pins and ground pins. Termination sections are provided at the rear of the lead frame to terminate each of the signal wires of the cables to respective signal lands. The ground sleeve has two general H-shape structures connected together by a center cross-support member. Each of the H-shaped structures having curved legs, each of which fits over the signal wires of one of the twinax cables. The wings of the ground sleeve are terminated to the ground lands of the lead frame and the drain wire of the cable is terminated to the ground sleeve to terminate the drain wire to a ground reference. The ground sleeve controls the impedance in the termination area of the cables, where the twinax foil is removed to expose the wires for termination to the lands. The ground sleeve also shields the cables to reduce crosstalk between themselves and adjacent wafers when arranged in a connector housing.

System For Providing Mobile Data Security

US Patent:
7917963, Mar 29, 2011
Filed:
Aug 9, 2007
Appl. No.:
11/836561
Inventors:
Arvind Goyal - Sudbury MA, US
Joseph George - Boston MA, US
Howard Mak - Ashland MA, US
John E. Arnold - Westborough MA, US
Assignee:
Antenna Vaultus, Inc. - Jersey City NJ
International Classification:
G06F 21/00
US Classification:
726 29
Abstract:
A system transfers applications and datasets (files) from a server to a client device and assigns to each file a lease key that will expire at a specified time. A file cannot be accessed unless its lease key is validated. Upon expiration of a lease key, the client device will connect to the server to determine if the lease key may be renewed. If the lease key may be renewed, a new lease key is created and access to the associated application or dataset is restored. If the lease key may not be renewed, the file may be deleted or rendered inaccessible. If rendered inaccessible, the file may be restored in the future without having to re-transmit it from the server to the client device. The server may also revoke a lease key before it expires.
