Lan Cable With Pvc Cross-Filler

US Patent:
2013021, Aug 22, 2013
Filed:
Feb 16, 2012
Appl. No.:
13/398106
Inventors:
Qibo Jiang - Ephrata PA, US
Joshua Keller - Mechanicsburg PA, US
Paul Kroushl - Lencaster PA, US
International Classification:
H01B 11/02
US Classification:
174113 R
Abstract:
A communications cable includes a jacket and a plurality of twisted pairs, each twisted pair having two insulated conductors twisted around one another. A cross-filler is arranged between the twisted pairs, where the cross filler is constructed of a PVC formulation using a halogenated plasticizer as the primary plasticizer and having a dissipation factor below 0.01 at frequencies between 100 MHz to 500 MHz.

Profile Filler Tubes In Lan Cables

US Patent:
2014000, Jan 2, 2014
Filed:
Jul 2, 2012
Appl. No.:
13/539978
Inventors:
Greg Heffner - Denver PA, US
Joshua Keller - Mechanicsburg PA, US
Qibo Jiang - Ephrata PA, US
Paul Kroushl - Lancaster PA, US
Frederic Jean - Manheim PA, US
Kathy Perevosnik - Ephrata PA, US
International Classification:
H01B 7/00
US Classification:
174116
Abstract:
A cable is provided containing one or o polymeric elements for reduction of crosstalk. The cable includes a plurality of unshielded twisted pairs, each of which is an insulated conductor pair twisted around one another, each having a different lay length. A jacket encloses the plurality of unshielded twisted pairs, where an unshielded twisted pair, has the longest lay length among the plurality of unshielded twisted pairs is positioned within the center of the jacket such that an axis of the twisted pairs that has the longest lay length substantially coincides with the central longitudinal axis of the cable. A plurality of bumper elements are disposed within the jacket in the interstices between said plurality of unshielded twisted pairs, where the bumper elements are profiled polymer structures.

Profiled Insulation And Method For Making The Same

US Patent:
2010027, Nov 4, 2010
Filed:
Apr 29, 2009
Appl. No.:
12/432392
Inventors:
Joshua Keller - Mechanicsburg PA, US
Greg Heffner - Denver PA, US
International Classification:
H01B 11/02
H01B 3/30
US Classification:
174113 C, 174110 SR
Abstract:
A wire, having a conductor and an insulation, extruded onto the conductor. The insulation has a plurality of alternating plateaus and valleys thrilling a profile along the outer circumference, where a circumference ratio of an outer circumference of the insulation at the full thickness of the plateaus relative to the portion of the outer circumference of the insulation that is at the reduced thickness of valleys is substantially 1.5 or greater.

Discontinuous Shielding Tapes For Data Communications Cable

US Patent:
2014023, Aug 28, 2014
Filed:
Feb 27, 2013
Appl. No.:
13/779089
Inventors:
- Paris, FR
Qibo Jiang - Ephrata PA, US
Greg Heffner - Ephrata PA, US
Joshua Keller - Mechanicsburg PA, US
International Classification:
H01B 11/04
US Classification:
174113 R
Abstract:
The present arrangement provides a communication cable having a plurality of twisted pair communication elements, a jacket surrounding the twisted pairs and a shield element disposed between the pairs and the jacket. The shield element is constructed as a tape substrate with a plurality of foil shielding elements disposed thereon, the foil shielding elements being formed in the shape of triangles and arranged on the substrate with at least a first foil shield element having a base of its triangle shape disposed substantially parallel to a longitudinal edge of the tape substrate. Each subsequent triangle is disposed on the tape substrate at a distance apart from the first triangle foil shielding element with a base of its triangle shape disposed substantially parallel to an opposite longitudinal edge of the tape substrate.
