Rotor For An Agricultural Feed Bagger

US Patent:
4899867, Feb 13, 1990
Filed:
Jan 25, 1988
Appl. No.:
7/148335
Inventors:
Kelly P. Ryan - Blair NE
International Classification:
B65G 304
US Classification:
198513
Abstract:
A rotor for an agricultural feed bagger comprising an elongated cylindrical member having first and second sets of rotor teeth mounted therein with the first and second sets being arranged on the cylindrical member in opposing helical fashions. First and second sets of auxiliary rotor teeth are mounted on the cylindrical member within the helical patterns defined by the first and second sets of rotor teeth so that silage material delivered to the center of the rotor will be subjected to a greater number of rotor teeth than silage delivered to the ends of the rotor.

Removable Tooth Cap For Use On The Rotor Of An Agricultural Feed Bagger

US Patent:
4907503, Mar 13, 1990
Filed:
Feb 24, 1989
Appl. No.:
7/314804
Inventors:
Kelly P. Ryan - Blair NE
International Classification:
A01F 2516
B65G 304
B30B 500
B65B 104
US Classification:
100 65
Abstract:
A removable tooth cap for use on the rotor of an agricultural feed bagger comprising a pusher plate selectively movably secured to each of the teeth on the rotor. The inner end of each of the pusher plates are removably received in an elongated opening formed in the leading edge of the associated rotor tooth. The outer end of each of the pusher plates embrace a portion of the outer end of the associated rotor tooth.

Two Wheel Agricultural Feed Bagger

US Patent:
4621666, Nov 11, 1986
Filed:
Oct 9, 1985
Appl. No.:
6/785763
Inventors:
Kelly P. Ryan - Blair NE
Assignee:
Kelly Ryan Equipment Co. - Blair NE
International Classification:
A01F 2516
B65G 304
US Classification:
141114
Abstract:
A loading apparatus for loading feed stock into agricultural bags wherein the loading apparatus has a housing with a hopper, a passageway communicating with the hopper and a tunnel communicating with the passageway. The tunnel supports the open mouth of an agricultural bag to be filled. A rotor is drivingly located in the passageway. The rotor and passageway have widths approximately two thirds the width of the tunnel. The tunnel has an expanding chamber, a forming chamber and a guide member. The expanding chamber has a rear wall extending substantially vertically and has side walls diverging outwardly all with the view to accommodating the mass of feed stock received from the rotor in the passageway. The rotor has flanges on the ends within the passageway and mount plural pairs of teeth spaced about the circumference thereof. The relatively short rotor is driven at relatively high speeds, which when combined with the pairs of teeth moves the feed stock rapidly and effectively into the tunnel where it fills the tunnel before discharge into the bag.

Cattle Feeding Device

US Patent:
4310252, Jan 12, 1982
Filed:

International Classification:
B10F 708
US Classification:
366186
Abstract:
The invention relates to a cattle feeding device in the form of a movable container provided with a plurality of augers, some extending horizontally and some inclined in order to effect proper mixing of feed introduced into the container together with means for discharging the thoroughly mixed feed for consumption by cattle.

Hydraulic Circuit Cooling System For Silage Compactors

US Patent:
4256031, Mar 17, 1981
Filed:
Sep 28, 1979
Appl. No.:
6/079816
Inventors:
Kelly P. Ryan - Blair NE
Assignee:
Blair Manufacturing Company - Blair NE
International Classification:
A01F 2516
B65G 304
US Classification:
100 65
Abstract:
A system for cooling hydraulic fluid in a hydraulic circuit utilized for operating a silage compressor wherein hydraulic fluid is circulated through a tank forming at least a portion of a wall along and in contact with which compressed silage is passed, thereby effecting a heat transfer from the hot hydraulic fluid in the tank to the relatively cool silage passing along the wall.

Two Wheel Agricultural Feed Bagger

US Patent:
4724876, Feb 16, 1988
Filed:
Apr 30, 1986
Appl. No.:
6/858095
Inventors:
Kelly P. Ryan - Blair NE
Assignee:
Ryco Enterprises Incorporated - Blair NE
International Classification:
B65G 304
US Classification:
141114
Abstract:
An apparatus for loading feed stock into agricultural bags of the type having a housing with a hopper, a passageway communicating with the hopper and a a rotor drivingly located in the passageway for advancing feed stock from the hopper into the bags. A screw conveyor is mounted within the hopper and directs stock oppositely along the length of the screw conveyor to eliminate mounding of the feed stock in the hopper. An insert is provided on a tapered wall of the hopper to divert the line of the flow of stock toward the rotational axis of the press rotor and is positioned to direct stock approximately to the screw conveyor and press rotor to prevent an accumulation of dormant stock in the vicinity of the rotor. The invention also comprehends the provision of a direct gear drive between the power take-off of a driving vehicle and the rotor.

Agricultural Feed Bagger

US Patent:
4688480, Aug 25, 1987
Filed:
Dec 16, 1985
Appl. No.:
6/809287
Inventors:
Kelly P. Ryan - Blair NE
Assignee:
Ryco Enterprises Incorporated - Blair NE
International Classification:
B65B 110
US Classification:
100144
Abstract:
Improvements in apparatus for loading feed stock into agricultural bags. One aspect of the invention is the provision of a pusher plate between adjacent teeth on a rotor that propels the feed stock to enlarge the effective surface area for moving the feed stock. Another aspect of the invention is the provision of a brake disk on a shaft associated with spaced cable feeding drums that are yieldably braked to control the expansion of the bag. The disk is located between the drums and is associated with a coupling that interconnects the shaft when it is formed in other than one piece. A further aspect of the invention is the provision of a master cylinder to control the yieldable braking force on the cable carrying drums. A further aspect of the invention is the provision of a frame structure having associated hooks to guide winding of a line to form a backstop wall. A still further aspect of the invention is the provision of a tensioning apparatus comprising an arm that is pivotally biased against a flexible drive member and one that has a guide surface which bears against the drive member.
