Abstract:
A method and a system for a radio listener or a television viewer to retrieve a stored broadcast segment, such a song title or a sound recording, upon receiving a transmitted broadcast segment. In one embodiment, a computer-implemented method and system facilitates retrieving a stored broadcast segment associated with a transmitted broadcast segment in response to a user inquiry, wherein the user inquiry references a time and a date of a broadcast and a station identifier of the transmitted broadcast segment. The user initiates the inquiry upon receiving the transmitted broadcast segment that interests the user. The method includes configuring a broadcast segment database with a plurality of stored broadcast segments associated with respective broadcast times, broadcast dates, station identifiers and identification information. A first bookmark is generated in response to the user inquiry, wherein the first bookmark includes information describing the time and date of broadcast and the station identifier from the user inquiry. The first bookmark is stored in association with a user identification code in a user database. The first stored broadcast segment, corresponding to the first bookmark, is retrieved from the broadcast segment database and transmitted to a user-selected destination.

US Patent:
2002017, Nov 21, 2002
Filed:
May 15, 2001
Appl. No.:
09/858302
Inventors:
Kevin Dexter - San Jose CA, US
International Classification:
G06F007/00
US Classification:

Abstract:
A method and a system for obtaining descriptions and commercial terms of properties for sale via a wireless communications device. In one embodiment, a computer-implemented method and system that facilitates the retrieval of information describing a parcel of real property via a wireless communications channel. The method includes configuring a real property inventory database with information describing a plurality of parcels of real property. The information includes property codes associated with the parcels with each property code associated with a parcel data set that includes an offering price for the parcel. The property code of the parcel of land is received in a mobile communications device in response to a user inquiry. The property code is stored in association with a user identification code in a user database. In response to a user control, the mobile communications device retrieves a first parcel data set corresponding to the property code from the real property inventory database of a remote data processing system. The remote data processing system transmits the first parcel data set to a user-selected destination.
