May 23, 2000
Appl. No.:
09/579375
Inventors:
Klaus E. Funke - San Rafael CA
Helena W. Roth - San Rafael CA
Kevin A. Jaeger - Glen Ellen CA
William S. Tighe - Santa Rosa CA
James L. Horn - Penn Grove CA
Lie Gendo - Jakarta Barat, ID
Hardianto Kamarga - Jakarta Selatan, ID
Walter E. Noller - Sebastopol CA
Assignee:
Nusantara Communications, Inc. - Petaluma CA
International Classification:
H04Q 720
US Classification:
455403, 34082517
Abstract:
A radio communication system for processing information signals received from telephone trunk lines for transmission over a plurality of RF subscriber channels is disclosed. The system includes a network interface exchange for sampling the received information signals and sequentially combining the resultant plurality of sampled information signals into one or more multiplexed transmit channel bit streams. The network interface exchange includes a processor for assigning a first of the sampled information signals from one of the trunk lines to an available repetitive slot position of a first of the transmit channel bit streams provided to a first destination node associated with the first of the sampled information signals, the first destination node being determined in accordance with subscriber unit identification information received over the trunk line. A transmitter transmits a forward interface signal to the first destination node over a network interface channel in response to the first multiplexed channel bit stream. The system includes a remote telephone exchange, in RF communication with the network interface exchange over the network interface channel, corresponding to the first destination node and located distal from the network interface exchange.

Bridging Network Device With Time Windowed Discovery Of Machine Addresses

US Patent:
6778542, Aug 17, 2004
Filed:
Dec 11, 2000
Appl. No.:
09/735270
Inventors:
Mudhafar Hassan-Ali - Rohnert Park CA
Mark W. Cole - Santa Rosa CA
Kevin A. Jaeger - Glen Ellen CA
Assignee:
Alcatel - Paris
International Classification:
H04L 1256
US Classification:
370401, 370255, 370402, 370453, 370254, 370252
Abstract:
The present invention relates to an apparatus and a method for bridging of Ethernet frames between a subscriber LAN and the ATM network. In accordance with the invention a novel (time window discovery) method is used, with coordination of the network administrator and an access management system to provision a network bridging element or bridge with a set of provisioned devices authorized to forward data packets across the bridge. The bridge is allowed within a time window to learn machine-specific MAC addresses for the provisioned table. After the window is expired, or terminated by access management system, the bridge is switched back to learning mode to learn additional MAC addresses for a learned table in the traditional manner. The devices learned during the learning phase are not authorized to forward data packets across the bridge.

Flexible Embolic Device Delivery System

US Patent:
7651513, Jan 26, 2010
Filed:
Apr 3, 2003
Appl. No.:
10/407295
Inventors:
Clifford Teoh - Los Altos CA, US
Stephen C. Porter - Oakland CA, US
Kevin M. Jaeger - Pleasanton CA, US
Michael Wallace - Fremont CA, US
Assignee:
Boston Scientific Scimed, Inc. - Maple Grove MN
International Classification:
A61M 25/01
US Classification:
606200, 606108, 606194
Abstract:
The present invention provides an embolic assembly delivery apparatus having superior flexibility characteristics at its distal end, that is, at the point of attachment of the embolic assembly to the delivery apparatus. It also provides a method of using the apparatus to deliver an embolic assembly to a target site in a patient's body.

Local Oscillator Signal Phase Acquisition System For Digital Demodulator

US Patent:
4980648, Dec 25, 1990
Filed:
Oct 24, 1989
Appl. No.:
7/427152
Inventors:
Kevin A. Jaeger - Petaluma CA
Patrick K. Walp - Penngrove CA
Assignee:
AMP Incorporated - Harrisburg PA
International Classification:
H04L 2738
US Classification:
329308
Abstract:
A digital demodulator or receiver (22) having an interface (24) for receiving an input signal modulated with digital data, a multiplier (26) for multiplying the input signal with a local oscillator signal (LOa-LOd) to generate a product signal, and an integrator (38) for periodically integrating the product signal to generate a sequence of integrated signals, each having an amplitude indicative of a respective portion of the digital data, operates in a SEARCH mode to supply acquisition reference signals (1xi, 1xq, 2xi, 2xq) to the multipliers (36). The resulting integrated values (Ia-Id) are proportional to the sine and cosine of the pahse (. phi. ) of the input signal. The polarities (Sa-Sd) of these integrated values (Ia-Id) are processed to estimate this phase (. phi. ) and to generate a reset signal (RESYNC) for the receiver (22) at the appropriate time.

Digital Transversal Filter

US Patent:
5148383, Sep 15, 1992
Filed:
Dec 21, 1990
Appl. No.:
7/631825
Inventors:
Kevin A. Jaeger - Glen Ellen CA
Assignee:
AMP Incorporated - Harrisburg PA
International Classification:
G06F 1531
US Classification:
36472416
Abstract:
A digital transversal filter includes first and second shift registers. A first digital data signal is applied as an input to the first shift register and a second digital data signal, which is a phase shifted version of the first digital data signal, is applied to the second shift register. First and second clock signals are used to clock the shift registers, and these clock signals correspond in frequency but differ in phase with respect to one another. The outputs of the stages of the first and second delay lines are weighted by respective resistors which are connected to a summing node. The digital data signal has a data clocking rate, the first and second clock signals have a delay line clocking rate, and the data clocking rate is slower than the delay line clocking rate.

Digital Data Transmission System With Adaptive Predistortion Of Transmitted Pulses

US Patent:
5253272, Oct 12, 1993
Filed:
Mar 1, 1991
Appl. No.:
7/632434
Inventors:
Kevin A. Jaeger - Glen Ellen CA
Gerald L. Somer - Sebastopol CA
Assignee:
AMP Incorporated - Harrisburg PA
International Classification:
H04K 2503
H04H 2549
US Classification:
375 60
Abstract:
A digital data transmission system includes a transmitter connected to a receiver by a twisted pair. A digital transversal filter, included in the transmitter, supplies output signals to one of four resistor banks, as determined by an automatic selection system that selects one of the resistor banks based on the measured transmission characteristics of the twisted pair. The output signals are weighted by the resistors of the selected resistor bank, summed, and used to generate the transmitted pulse. The values of the resistors of each resistor bank are chosen to shape the transmitted pulse for a respective length of transmission medium so that, after distortion by the transmission medium, the transmitted pulse more nearly corresponds to the ideal pulse shape for which the receiver is designed.
