The Department of Hearing and Speech Science at Vanderbilt University, Nashville, TN now offers a Master in Education of the Deaf (M.E.D.) degree. The first M.D.E. students began classes in Fall of 2006. Among those students was Kimberly Osment, B.S., D.E., University of Tulsa.. Kimberly was chosen as the Outstanding Senior Graduate at TU and served Kappa Delta in many offices including Panhellenic Representative . She has worked in Deaf Education for most of 25 years as a classroom teacher, Interpreter of the Deaf, Early Interventionist and provided Sign Language instruction in churches and community education. She served her community as a representative to the Character Council working with Chamber of Commerce, School Superintendents and other community leaders to improve the business and social environment.
