Upstream And Downstream Data Conversion

US Patent:
2014003, Jan 30, 2014
Filed:
Mar 5, 2013
Appl. No.:
13/786338
Inventors:
Lance Weber - Boulder CO, US
International Classification:
G06Q 20/08
US Classification:
705 77
Abstract:
One embodiment of the invention is directed to implementing a broker system to accept confidential information from upstream trading partners, retrieve tokens from the tokenization service, send tokens to the merchant ordering system, and forward confidential information to downstream trading partners. By using a broker system, the merchant ordering system could store and use tokens to identify orders in its system instead of confidential information, which can help protect the confidential information in the event of a security breach. Also, the broker system may provide an amenable solution for the merchant to continue doing business with the upstream and downstream trading partners without causing these entities to substantially change their current processing systems.

Method And System For Correlating Diverse Transaction Data

US Patent:
2013033, Dec 12, 2013
Filed:
Jun 5, 2013
Appl. No.:
13/910970
Inventors:
Lance Weber - Longmont CO, US
International Classification:
G06Q 20/38
US Classification:
705 39
Abstract:
Embodiments of the present invention are directed to methods, systems, and apparatuses for matching e-commerce and physical point-of-sale transaction data. In one embodiment, a method includes receiving, by a computer, first transaction data comprising a payment token or second transaction data comprising a primary account identifier, wherein the payment token is derived from the primary account identifier, and providing, by the computer, a universal account identifier after receiving the payment token or the account identifier, wherein the universal account identifier is a substitute for the payment token and the primary account identifier.

Secure Authorization For Access To Private Data In Virtual Reality

US Patent:
2020022, Jul 16, 2020
Filed:
Aug 23, 2017
Appl. No.:
16/627206
Inventors:
- San Francisco CA, US
Lance Weber - Longmont CO, US
International Classification:
H04L 29/06
G06F 21/32
Abstract:
Techniques for secure authentication in virtual reality are provided. A virtual reality application executing on a virtual reality device can provide virtual reality environment. The virtual reality application may communicate with a server that provides a plurality of objects for display in the VR environment. The environment can include an object that, once selected, may initiate an authentication process. Once initiated, an authentication application may be launched on the VR device, so that a private authentication environment may be provided to the user. The user may be prompted to provide a biometric sample using one or more input devices coupled to the VR device. The biometric sample can then be sent to the authentication server, so that an authentication result may be determined from a comparison of the sample to a biometric template established during registration.

Method And System For Correlating Diverse Transaction Data

US Patent:
2019023, Aug 1, 2019
Filed:
Apr 8, 2019
Appl. No.:
16/378377
Inventors:
- San Francisco CA, US
Lance Weber - Longmont CO, US
International Classification:
G06Q 20/38
G06Q 20/02
G06Q 20/10
G06Q 20/20

Account Type Detection For Fraud Risk

US Patent:
2019022, Jul 18, 2019
Filed:
Mar 28, 2019
Appl. No.:
16/367935
Inventors:
- San Francisco CA, US
Lance Weber - Longmont CO, US
International Classification:
G06Q 20/40
Abstract:
A server computer can provide a merchant or other entity with a payment card (or other payment device) detection service that can determine a level of fraud based on the account type being presented (e.g., credit, debit, prepaid, etc.) at the time of purchase. For example, a payment account number (PAN) can be used to perform a database lookup (e.g., a range lookup) to identify the payment account type, which can then be fed into a fraud detection system. The level of fraud can then be used to determine an authorization result (e.g., accept, reject, or review). A use of a merchant processor computer that implements fraud processing can allow a merchant to implement discounting, acceptance, and/or fraud rules based on the card type.

Single Order Multiple Payment Processing

US Patent:
2019005, Feb 21, 2019
Filed:
Oct 19, 2018
Appl. No.:
16/165764
Inventors:
Lance Weber - Longmont CO, US
International Classification:
G06Q 30/06
Abstract:
A method and system for providing multiple authorization request messages for multiple products offered by respectively different merchants in a single order are disclosed. If one of the authorization request messages is declined, then an order interrupt message may be sent to the consumer. In order interrupt message may indicate that the single order is canceled, even though authorization request messages for the purchase of other products in the order are approved.

Embedded Acceptance System

US Patent:
2014031, Oct 16, 2014
Filed:
Apr 15, 2014
Appl. No.:
14/253188
Inventors:
LANCE WEBER - LONGMONT CO, US
International Classification:
G06Q 20/38
US Classification:
705 71, 705 39
Abstract:
Methods and systems can provide for unified processing of merchant transactions over various payment channels over which the transactions originate, such as in-person retail transactions and e-commerce transactions. For example, transactions can be received from payment channels through different payment channel-specific interfaces. The transactions from the various payment channels can then be sent to an entry point module that centrally manages the transactions. An orchestrator can then identify payment channel-agnostic transaction services to be applied to the transactions. This can allow for a unified end-to-end encryption implementation across a merchant's enterprise, reducing management costs and improving overall security. Similarly, universal tokenization services, payment and fraud management can be provided across a merchant's entire enterprise.
