Tagline:
I am a consultant and author residing in Huntsville, Alabama. I have had the pleasure of being a faculty member at the Florida Institute of Technology, The University of Central Florida and The University of Alabama in Huntsville for the past. In addition to my teaching responsibilities, I created and managed the Center for Entrepreneurial Research at Florida Tech, and was the Director of the Small Business Development Center at UAH. My academic experience and network provided me some extraordinary opportunities for consulting with businesses both large and small over the past 20+ years. I have provided solutions for small to medium size firms as well as Fortune 100 and Fortune 500 companies. My clients have included companies as diverse as The Raytheon Corporation and General Motors to the City of Palm Bay, Florida, The Melbourne International Airport, and Ron Jon's Surf Shop. Since 1999 I have focused my consulting efforts on health care and technology firms. I have extensive experience providing marketing and practice management expertise for orthopedic surgeons and hospitals/clinics specializing in total joint replacement surgery. In addition to health care, I have worked with firms that provide technology solutions for the HVAC industry. Consequently, I have compiled extensive research in these areas and am using these experiences to author publications that I hope will be useful to others. Over the past few years I have also concentrated my efforts on web-based commerce solutions, particularly the integration of social media and inbound marketing. I have operated a couple of my own web-based businesses and have created web-based solutions for several of my clients. I am particularly intrigued by the role that emerging communications technologies can play in both marketing practice and cost containment. I have focused much of my energy on customer service solutions in an eCommerce environment and have been astonished by how little attention is paid by many firms to the basic service needs of their customers/clients. I have written and published extensively on this subject and will continue to explore additional avenues for customer service improvement. I have also been a long-time sufferer from kidney stone disease which I have finally overcome through extensive research and the employment of the knowledge I gained from this research. I have recently authored a book entitled "Knock Out Kidney Stones...Forever", so that I may share my knowledge with others suffering from the same disease. This book will be available soon in print as well as electronic form for Kindle, Nook and other eReaders, and will be available at Amazon.com, Barnes & Noble, Borders, and other fine book stores. I am currently completing a book with the working title "The Over 40 Ex-Jock's Guide to Nagging Sports Injuries". I hope to have this book in stores before Christmas. In addition to these publications I have also partially completed "The Non-Marketers Step-By-Step Guide to Social Media Marketing". I hope to have this book completed by mid-spring. from Amazon.com, on the subject.
