Reading, writing and as little arithmetic as possible. I am also a DJ that spins old-school hip-hop, funk and soul. I have been writing "ads" since I had to stand on a stool to brush my teeth - I'm 5'10" to give some perspective there. If I didn't write I'm not sure what I'd really want to do full time, except perhaps be the Hype Man for a rap artist. Standing with a mic and occasionally shouting out a word for emphasis greatly appeals to me.

I won a poetry contest in high school. Other than that, I do what I do because I love it. Well, ok, I did write a Heineken TV spot that, while loved by the client, was banned from ever running in the United States. I'd call that an award for "excellence in pushing the envelope".
