Schluter Systems L.P. - Plattsburgh NY
International Classification:
A47K 3/40
US Classification:
4288, 4613
Abstract:
A shower drain adapter system configured to allow use of a bondable waterproof membrane with a shower pan drain system comprises a drain body and an integrated bonding flange extending upwardly from the drain body. The integrated bonding flange is operable to be sealably attached to a bondable waterproof membrane to provide a substantially waterproof seal between the membrane and the adapter. A lower mating flange is separable from the drain body, the lower mating flange operable to mate with a component of a shower pan drain system installable on a waste pipe. The lower mating flange includes a substantially rigid frame; and a pliable gasket disposed at least partially about the frame, the pliable gasket having an inner diameter sized to correspond to an outer diameter of a portion of the drain body.

Mock Shower Drain And Associated Methods

US Patent:
7992236, Aug 9, 2011
Filed:
Mar 1, 2006
Appl. No.:
11/366203
Inventors:
Lonnie C. Degooyer - South Jordan UT, US
Assignee:
Schluter Systems, L.P. - Plattsburgh NY
International Classification:
E03C 1/12
US Classification:
4679, 4613, 4652, 4287
Abstract:
A mock shower drain for temporary, in-situ installation within a shower area that is configured to utilize an integrated bonding flange drain, the mock shower drain includes a lower section operable to mate with a drain fitting installed in the shower area, the drain fitting operable to mate with a corresponding lower section of an integrated bonding flange drain. An upper section is sized to fit within a cavity formed in a subfloor of the shower area sized to receive a corresponding section of the integrated bonding flange drain. A cap section is coupled to the upper section, the cap section forming a barrier to resist passage of debris to the drain fitting. An intermediate section intercouples the upper section and the cap section. The mock drain is dimensioned such that an uppermost portion of the mock drain is elevated at least as high as to be substantially flush with the subfloor of the shower area when the lower section of the mock drain is mated with the drain fitting.

Segmented Drain Systems

US Patent:
2009011, May 7, 2009
Filed:
Sep 5, 2008
Appl. No.:
12/205105
Inventors:
Lonnie C. DeGooyer - West Jordan UT, US
Reinhard H. Plank - Beaconsfield, CA
Peter B. Plank - Mt. Albert, CA
Peter A. Nielsen - Elizabethtown NY, US
Sean P. Gerolimatos - Plattsburgh NY, US
Fernando Ricci - Angou, CA
Nancy Ricci - Angou, CA
Michelangelo Ricci - St. Leonard, CA
International Classification:
E03C 1/12
US Classification:
4679
Abstract:
A segmented drain system comprises a drain body, operable to mate with a drain fitting installed in a bath or shower area, and a bonding flange body, adjustable relative to the drain body. An integrated bonding flange extends from the bonding flange body, the integrated bonding flange being operable to be sealably attached to a bondable waterproof membrane to provide a substantially water-tight seal between the membrane and the bonding flange body. A seal is oriented between the integrated bonding flange body and the drain body, the seal being operable to provide a slidable, substantially water-tight interface between the integrated bonding flange body and the drain body.

Tile Reinforcing Grid

US Patent:
4590731, May 27, 1986
Filed:
Aug 10, 1983
Appl. No.:
6/521937
Inventors:
Lonnie C. DeGooyer - Murray UT
International Classification:
E04C 110
US Classification:
52581
Abstract:
A modular reinforcing grid for reinforcing and supporting a bed of mortar on a supporting surface. The grid is made up of thin strips positioned on edge and arranged to define openings of geometric shape. Mounting posts form junctions between adjacent strips to provide uniform depth to the grid. The exposed edges of the strips and the upper surfaces of the mounting posts lie in approximately the same plane to provide a grid for floating the mortar to a uniform depth. The grid is molded in uniform sizes and shapes with interlocking edges to provide continuous reinforcement and support for the mortar bed.
