Prior to entering the real estate profession, I was fortunate to have a long career as a law enforcement officer. We have two wonderful children pursuing their own careers. The oldest, Daniel, served 4 years in the Navy, with duty all over the world. He is married with 2 children of his own and he has an interest in real estate as well. Our daughter, Vanessa, an E-4 in the Navy has been enlisted for 4 years. She will soon embark on adventures in the Civilian world as a full-time student with studies focused on the medical and nutrition fields. I have successfully represented numerous builders of new construction and remodeling as well as land developers. I often counsel on floor plans, designs and marketing approaches as well as building concerns and considerations. My husband Steve and I have bought, sold, renovated and managed rental properties over the years. We have developed raw land for resale as well. My lifelong interest in horses and horse properties has driven my enjoyment of real estate sales and enabled me to close many purchases of horse property. When we had our current custom home built for us, we experienced a difficult and expensive situation with our builder. It brought home for me how important it is to carefully counsel my clients to be aware of the issues and critical questions that must be asked and resolved to avoid the expensive lessons we learned. It may be less than obvious why my background in law enforcement is an asset. Frankly this extensive background has equipped me with exceptional training in detail management, complicated regulations, policies and liability along with working well with people under stressful situations, all highly valued skills in real estate.
