International Classification:
A61B 17/62
A61B 17/88
US Classification:
606 56
Abstract:
An external fixation system has a planar ring with an adjustable device having a body releasably mounted on the ring. The adjustable device includes a first member for movement in a direction generally perpendicular to the ring. A second member is mounted on the first member for movement in a direction parallel to a side wall of the planar ring. A method for treating a broken bone includes providing an external fixation system and inserting a first k-wire or half pin through a first piece of the bone and affixing the first k-wire or half pin to the ring, then inserting a second k-wire or half pin through a second piece of bone and affixing the second k-wire or half pin to the adjustable device. The pieces of bone are realigned, compressed, or distracted by adjusting at least one of the first and second adjustable members.

The implant customization portion may customize the implant blanks. The interface may be configured to receive implant customization information and utilize the same to intraoperatively manipulate the implant blank to a patient-specific implant within a sterile environment. A method to customize an implant in a surgical care environment may include the steps of obtaining information related to the implant location, selecting an implant blank based on the information, and customizing the implant blank in a surgical care setting with a customization apparatus.

Systems For Soft Tissue Repair

US Patent:
2022021, Jul 7, 2022
Filed:
Mar 21, 2022
Appl. No.:
17/699559
Inventors:
- Mahwah NJ, US
Manoj Kumar Singh - Mahwah NJ, US
International Classification:
A61B 17/04
A61B 17/06
Abstract:
A tissue repair apparatus includes a housing, a rotatable shaft at least partially disposed within the housing, and first and second curved needles coupled to the shaft. The housing defines a gap between a first edge of the housing and a second edge of the housing, the gap adapted to receive tissue. The first and second needles curved needles being articulable within the housing from a delivery position, at which the first and second needles are spaced from the gap, to a deployed position, at which the first and second needles extend through the gap. Actuation of the shaft simultaneously articulates the first and second needles and the first needle enters the gap before the second needle enters the gap.

Gear Mechanisms For Fixation Frame Struts

US Patent:
2023006, Mar 2, 2023
Filed:
Oct 15, 2022
Appl. No.:
18/046910
Inventors:
- Kalamazoo MI, US
Daniel Greenberg - Ramsey NJ, US
Patrick Valli - Brookside NJ, US
Manoj Kumar Singh - Mahwah NJ, US
Cem Adalioglu - Mönkeberg, DE
Assignee:
Stryker European Operations Holdings LLC - Kalamazoo MI
International Classification:
A61B 17/66
A61B 17/62
Abstract:
An adjustable length strut includes two joints, a threaded rod extending between the joints, and a tube adapted to receive the threaded rod. An actuation mechanism with gear teeth extending radially outward of the strut axis is rotatably fixed to the threaded rod. A protrusion may be coupled to an end of the threaded rod by a rotatable collar, with the protrusion extending through a slot in the tube to mark the length of the strut. A modular attachment member may be adapted to be couple to the first joint and include a worm gear adapted to engage gear teeth of the actuation mechanism. The modular attachment member may include a radiofrequency identity tag mechanism adapted to be read by a tag reader of a tool, the tool adapted to couple to the attachment member to rotate the worm gear to increase or decrease the effective length of the strut.

System For Pose Estimation Of Three-Dimensional Bone Models In Surgical Planning A Joint Replacement Procedure

US Patent:
2021040, Dec 30, 2021
Filed:
Sep 13, 2021
Appl. No.:
17/473265
Inventors:
- Kalamazoo MI, US
Kanishk Sethi - Gurgaon, IN
Anup Kumar - Gurgaon, IN
Ryan Sellman - Mahwah NJ, US
Peter Sterrantino - Mahwah NJ, US
Manoj Kumar Singh - Mahwah NJ, US
Assignee:
STRYKER EUROPEAN OPERATIONS HOLDINGS LLC - Kalamazoo MI
International Classification:
A61B 34/10
G06T 7/73
G06T 19/20
Abstract:
A system for processing patient data associated with a joint of a patient. The system comprising a computing device executing instructions to generate a 3D patient bone model of the joint in a non-weighted pose. The instructions rearrange 3D first and second bone models in order to mimic a weighted pose of the joint of the patient from a 2D image of the joint of the patient in a weighted pose by performing the steps of: generating a plurality of 2D projections of poses of the 3D patient bone model; comparing the plurality of 2D projections to contour lines of the first bone and the second bone in the 2D image; identifying particular 2D projections that best-fit a shape and size of the contour lines; and arranging the 3D first and second bone models relative to each other according to orientations represented by the particular 2D projections that were identified.
