Abstract:
A metallic particle trap bypass filter is disclosed generally comprising a housing, a filter element disposed therein, an inflow chamber, an outflow chamber, a bypass valve connecting these chambers, and a magnet disposed in the outflow chamber. In some embodiments, the magnet is a magnetic rod. In certain advantageous embodiments, a second filter element, with a different mesh size than the first filter element, is coupled to the first filter element. In some embodiments, the filter element in stainless steel, and in certain embodiments, the filter element is pleated.

Abstract:
A bypass filter assembly is disclosed generally comprising a bypass housing having a bypass chamber, in which a ball bearing is biased against an aperture by a spring. In certain advantageous embodiments, the aperture is located in a bypass cap removably disposed in a cavity in a base plate. In some embodiments, a bearing seat is formed from a beveled area in the inner face of the bypass housing around the aperture. In certain embodiments, a bearing seat is formed from a tubular column with slots extending into the bypass chamber.

Abstract:
A reusable liquid filter assembly having a housing having two internally threaded ends and two externally threaded removable end walls. Sealing O-rings are provided on the end walls to bear and seal against bevelled zones on the housing ends. A filter subassembly is positioned in the housing and centered therein by the end walls. A port is provided in one end wall for sampling the filtered liquid. The liquid filter is readily disassembled for cleaning and replacement of all of its components.
