Proactive Overload Handling On Real-Time Systems

US Patent:
2020016, May 21, 2020
Filed:
Sep 9, 2019
Appl. No.:
16/564096
Inventors:
- Arlington VA, US
Mirza Z. Zillur - Dumont NJ, US
Maria Cel Halili Zaballero - Ramsey NJ, US
Daniel Osorio - Hackensack NJ, US
International Classification:
H04W 4/24
H04M 15/00
H04W 24/04
H04M 17/00
Abstract:
A network device stores overload handling criteria for a real-time credit management system of a wireless core network. The network device monitors for overload conditions based on the overload handling criteria and determines, based on the monitoring, that a potential overload condition exists. The network device receives a first credit control request for a user device, determines a standard resource quota that is responsive to the first credit control request, and allocates an increased resource quota, over the standard resource quota, for the first credit control request. The increased resource quota is based on the potential overload condition and the overload handling criteria. The increased resource quota may prevent the system from reaching a complete overload condition, may reduce overall message traffic, and may provide time for manual or autonomous recovery from the circumstance that caused the potential overload condition.

Systems And Methods For Intelligent Data Quota Allocation And Management

US Patent:
2019029, Sep 26, 2019
Filed:
Mar 22, 2018
Appl. No.:
15/928781
Inventors:
- Arlington VA, US
Landry N'drin EDI - Harrison NJ, US
Mirza ZILLUR - Dumont NJ, US
Maria Cel Halili ZABELLERO - Ramsey NJ, US
Daniel OSORIO - Hackensack NJ, US
International Classification:
H04W 8/20
H04W 72/04
H04L 29/08
H04W 76/10
Abstract:
A device may receive, from a network device, a credit control request to allocate a quota to a subscriber device. The quota may relate to access, by the subscriber device, to network resources provided by a network provider. The device may determine a subscriber value based on historical usage of network resources by the subscriber device, identify a group value based on historical usage of network resources by a group of subscriber devices with which the subscriber device is associated, and determine a particular quota to allocate to the subscriber device based on a baseline quota, the subscriber value, and a group value. The device may perform one or more actions to cause the particular quota to be allocated to the subscriber device based on determining the particular quota.

Network-Assisted Remote Access Portal

US Patent:
2016005, Feb 25, 2016
Filed:
Aug 20, 2014
Appl. No.:
14/464228
Inventors:
- Arlington VA, US
Rose A. Zoda Goldberg - Marlboro NJ, US
Maria Cel Halili Zaballero - Ramsey NJ, US
Klyani Devu - Belle Mead NJ, US
Mathivanan S. Munikrishnan - Somerset NJ, US
International Classification:
G07C 9/00
H04L 29/06
Abstract:
A computing system contains a processor that is configured to receive, with the user interface, a registered access code and access permissions from a remote user of a property having a property location. The registered access code may be configured to provide access to the property. The access permissions may include a predefined access period that the access code is valid to provide access to the property. The processor may further be configured to receive a provided access code of a local user of the property in response to a user location of the local user being near the property location, match the provided access code with the registered access code, and grant or deny access to the property based in part on the provided access code matching the registered access code and being received within the predefined access period.

Efficiently Authorizing Customers For Products Under Different Authorization Conditions

US Patent:
2015034, Dec 3, 2015
Filed:
May 30, 2014
Appl. No.:
14/292400
Inventors:
- Arlington VA, US
Edward L. DEMARIA - Highland Mills NY, US
Maria Cel Halili Zaballero - Ramsey NJ, US
Gregory R. LAMBROS - Somers NY, US
Mathivanan S. MUNIKRISHNAN - Somerset NJ, US
Kalyani DEVU - Belle Mead NJ, US
Adil BELIHOMJI - Kendall Park NJ, US
Assignee:
VERIZON PATENT AND LICENSING INC. - Arlington VA
International Classification:
G06Q 30/06
Abstract:
Customers seeking to acquire new products or services may need to be authorized for the new products or services. The authorization can depend on customer and product information, as well as on different authorization conditions such as qualification, re-qualification, and eligibility conditions. To efficiently authorize a customer for products or services under different authorization conditions, a table stores authorization rules including flags associating the rules with particular authorization conditions. Hence, among the rules that pertain to authorizing the customer for a product or service, one subset of rules can be associated with one authorization condition while a different subset is associated with another authorization condition. The customer is selectively determined to be authorized for the product or service under an authorization condition when the product or service information and/or the customer information satisfy all of the rules associated with the selected authorization condition.
