Abstract:
Dressings for treating a tissue site with negative pressure are disclosed, which may include a dressing having multiple layers and incorporating a material adapted to neutralize proteolytic enzymes. In one example embodiment, a dressing may include a first layer comprising a hydrophobic gel having a plurality of apertures. A material adapted to neutralize proteolytic enzymes may be applied to a surface of the first layer. The dressing may further include a second layer comprising a fenestrated film and coupled to the first layer. Additionally, the dressing may include a third layer comprising a manifold, which in some instances may be a polymeric foam. The dressing may further include a fourth layer comprising a polymer drape.

Abstract:
An assembly includes a drape substantially sealable over a wound bed and a trackpad configured to couple a tube to the drape and allow the tube to provide suction to the wound bed. The assembly also includes a vent opening in the drape, a filter coupled to the drape and communicating with the vent opening, a cover coupled to the drape and movable between a first position to cover the vent opening and filter and a second position to uncover the vent opening and the filter, and a fluid indicator coupled to the drape and operable to provide a visual indication that fluid build-up is present in the wound bed.

Abstract:
In one example embodiment, an apparatus for treating a tissue site may include a contact layer formed from a compressible material. The contact layer may include a plurality of apertures extending at least partially through the contact layer. The contact layer may be configurable such that at least a portion of the apertures include a first plurality of orifices having a diameter in a first diameter range and such that at least a portion of the apertures include a second plurality of orifices having a diameter in a second diameter range. The first diameter range may be from about 2 mm to about 6 mm. The second diameter range may be from about 8 mm to about 15 mm. The apparatus may include a cover configured to form a sealed space including the contact layer and the tissue site.

Disclosed are photo-responsive pressure sensitive adhesives, wound dressings that contain the photo-responsive pressure sensitive adhesives, and methods to remove the wound dressing. The photo-responsive pressure sensitive adhesive comprises a viscoelastic polymeric matrix. Abstract:
In an example embodiment, a dressing for disrupting debris in a tissue site may comprise a manifold having a first face and a second face. The dressing may also include a plurality of surface features formed from a compressible material. The plurality of surface features may define channels on at least the first face of the manifold. The channels may receive tissue in response to the application of negative pressure. In another example embodiment, a system for softening tissue at a tissue site may include a contact layer. The contact layer may include at least two concentric edges and at least one frangible strut mechanically coupling the concentric edges. The concentric edges and the frangible strut may define through-holes in the contact layer. A system and apparatus for promoting perfusion at a tissue site containing a sprain by applying a vacuum to intact skin extending over or surrounding the tissue site. The system and apparatus comprise a manifold formed from a porous material and configured to be disposed proximate the intact skin for distributing vacuum to the intact skin, and a sleeve adapted to cover the manifold and form a chamber containing the manifold to seal the manifold within the chamber between the sleeve and the intact skin. The system and apparatus further comprise a fluid coupling member adapted to deliver vacuum to the manifold for distribution to the intact skin.
