Multi-Picker Mechanism For Automatic Banking Machines

US Patent:
4544149, Oct 1, 1985
Filed:
Feb 4, 1982
Appl. No.:
6/345577
Inventors:
Harry T. Graef - Massillon OH
Jeffrey A. Hill - Canton OH
Scott A. Mercer - Hanoverton OH
Kevin H. Newton - North Canton OH
Gerald T. Sedlock - Hartville OH
Mark J. Wise - North Canton OH
Assignee:
Diebold, Incorporated - Canton OH
International Classification:
B65H 308
US Classification:
271107
Abstract:
A note picker mechanism for picking new and circulated paper money bills from stacks thereof through access openings of sealed, tamper-indicating containers for the notes when installed in ATM's. The mechanism has a primary suction picker device and a secondary friction-engaging picker device. The friction-engaging picker is switchably engaged with or disengaged from the suction picker so that if a picking failure occurs, the picker mechanism is automatically changed from joint operation of the primary and secondary picker to operation of the primary picker alone, or vice versa, to correct the cause of the picking failure.

Method Of And System For Detecting Bill Status In A Paper Money Dispenser

US Patent:
4462587, Jul 31, 1984
Filed:
Oct 5, 1981
Appl. No.:
6/309022
Inventors:
Harry T. Graef - Massillon OH
Mark J. Wise - North Canton OH
Assignee:
Diebold Incorporated - Canton OH
International Classification:
B65H 712
US Classification:
271263
Abstract:
Overlapped or folded bills in a paper money dispenser are detected by sensors that measure bill length and thickness. The sensors generate a first signal when bill thickness corresponds to the thickness of at least one standard bill and generate a second signal when bill thickness corresponds to at least twice standard bill thickness. A third signal is generated when bill thickness corresponds to at least three times standard bill thickness. The first and second signals, together with a fourth signal corresponding to the bill length, are supplied to a computer that identifies single or double bills as well as overlapped or folded bills and jammed bills. Bill count is incremented in response to identification of single or dispensable double bills. Overlapped bills, folded bills, double bills that cannot be dispensed, triple bills or suspicious bills are diverted to a storage canister.

Filed:
Oct 25, 2013
Appl. No.:
14/063463
Inventors:
- Chicago IL, US
Leon Taylor Chism II - Glen Ellyn IL, US
Vasili Michael Kolovos - Chicago IL, US
Mark Aaron Rogers - Chicago IL, US
Jesse Solomon London - Chicago IL, US

US Classification:

Abstract:
A computer-implemented system and method are provided for coordinating administration of a medical test to a user in which a request from a user for a recommendation in connection with a medical condition is received from a first computing device. A plurality of diagnostic questions associated with the medical condition are transmitted for display on the first computing device, and a plurality of responses to the plurality of diagnostic questions are received from the first computing device. The responses are analyzed to develop a test plan, which includes a test panel. A prescription for the test plan is developed and transmitted to a second computing device associated with an entity that executes the test panel. Results of tests conducted in accordance with the prescription are received from the second computing device. Medical advice a physician will communicate to the user is determined in accordance with at least one of the demographic information, the plurality of responses, and the test results. A summary report of the medical advice is developed, and transmitted to one or both of a third computing device associated with the physician and the first computing device.
