His professional liability cases include Tilton v. Richardson, 6 F.3d 683 (10th Cir.1993) cert. denied 114 S.Ct. 925 (1994) Selected by the 191st District Court as the mediator in the Case of Howard Marshal v. Anna Nichole Smith, et al, Cause No. 95-9248 (A libel action alleging Smith’s lawyers slandered the son the of oil billionaire, resulting in a $8.5 million verdict in favor of Marshall.) Martin has defended over a dozen cases involving physicians caught up in federal MDL pharmaceutical product liability cases. He has been asked to serve as special disciplinary counsel, for the State Bar of Texas to handle the trial of legal ethics appeals in district court, as well as arguing legal ethics cases before the 5th Court of Appeals. Medical cases include representation of Scott & White Hospital before the Austin Court of Appeals in the seminal case, Esparza v. Scott & White, 909 S.W.2d 548 (Tex. Civ. App.– Austin 1995.)
