Mary Maloney is the Founder and Owner of Hometown Realty and has been in the real estate industry since 2003. While Mary’s professional career began years before she obtained her real estate license, every position she held prepared her for her true calling: helping people buy and sell homes. Prior to working in real estate, Mary spent 8 ½ years in the U.S. Navy, working in communications and intelligence. During her time in the Navy, she built the foundation for her work ethic; learning the significance of confidentiality and an attention to detail. In addition to her time in the Navy, she was the Director of Business Development for Children’s Technology Group and worked at other marketing companies during the “Dot.com” era. Mary’s first position in the industry was with REMAX Realty. As a well-known agent and resident in San Elijo Hills, she was approached by the master developer of San Elijo Hills to open a resale office. In 2005, Mary helped open San Elijo Hills Realty and it was here that her expertise of the neighborhoods and surrounding communities grew; making her one of the most knowledgeable and successful agents in the area. In 2007, Mary chose to found her own Real Estate Agency. Together with Broker and Owner Steve Golden, she purchased San Elijo Hills Realty, renaming it Hometown Realty. Since then, Hometown Realty has become the #1 agency in San Elijo Hills and has expanded its working territory to Carlsbad, Encinitas and other areas of North County. When Mary isn’t at the office, she enjoys spending time with her family. Mary’s passions in life include food, wine, traveling and, of course, houses!
