Matt began investing in and selling real estate in the Los Angeles area in 1980. Prior to pursuing a full-time career in the field, he founded and developed one of Southern California’s largest direct marketing and fulfillment companies. In 1995, he sold his interest in that company to concentrate solely on property investments and sales. When he founded Matt Epstein Team 2000, it quickly became the #1 real estate team in the Southern San Fernando Valley. Since 1996, Matt has personally brokered 600 real estate property transactions representing approximately $500 million in completed sales. In 2000, then-Mayor Richard Riordan appointed Matt to serve on the South Valley Planning Commission for the City of Los Angeles. Recently, Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa asked him to assume the presidency of the commission. In this role, Matt presides over hearings and provides oversight and review of cases on planning matters in the San Fernando Valley. He is considered an authority on zoning and entitlement issues. Matt has been vice president of the Sherman Oaks Homeowners Association since 1995. He also serves on the executive board of directors for We Spark, a cancer support center with locations in Sherman Oaks, Santa Clarita and Burbank.
