Michael's family established this scholarship to honor his memory. Mike was the owner of Frank and Pat's Pizza on the east side of Green Bay. He was an employer who provided personal and financial support for many levels of education throughout his life, especially to his employees. This scholarship promotes technical college excellence by providing assistance to NWTC students who have a strong motivation to succeed at the next educational level along with a demonstrated financial need.
WPS Scholarship
This program was established to support the efforts of adults who are 25 years of age or older. The scholarship recognizes the special effort and challenges facing adult students, many of whom have families to support while earning a two-year associate degree. Candidates must be in good academic standing as evidenced by grade point average. Financial need and educational goals will be considered. Full time students receive a $500 tuition credit and part time students receive a $250 tuition credit toward spring semester. Preference may be given to students in programs related to the industry represented by Wisconsin Public Service Corporation.
Catherine E. & Myrl S. Apple Family Foundation
These annual scholarships will be awarded to students who reside in either Brown or Marinette County. The award is based on a combination of merit and need. To qualify, the student must have successfully completed the first year of a two-year Associate Degree program with a minimum 3.0 grade point average.
Phi Theta Kappa
The purpose of Phi Theta Kappa shall be to recognize and encourage scholarship among two-year college students. To achieve this purpose, Phi Theta Kappa shall provide opportunity for the development of leadership and service, for an intellectual climate for exchange of ideas and ideals, for lively fellowship for scholars, and for stimulation of interest in continuing academic excellence.
