Scanning System Using Alternating Current For Indicating The Open, Closed And Ground Condition Of A Contact

US Patent:
4340852, Jul 20, 1982
Filed:
Aug 9, 1979
Appl. No.:
6/065370
Inventors:
Mauro G. Togneri - Houston TX
International Classification:
G01R 3102
US Classification:
324 51
Abstract:
A simple but effective means for employing alternating polarity current in a discrete inputs can system is disclosed. The system permits scanning of a field contact for open mode, closed mode and for the presence or absence of spurious ground contacts.

Graphic Display

US Patent:
4639724, Jan 27, 1987
Filed:
Sep 27, 1978
Appl. No.:
5/946398
Inventors:
Mauro G. Togneri - Houston TX
International Classification:
G08B 500
US Classification:
34081501
Abstract:
A graphic display system, including a uniquely designed three or four element structure, forming a semi-graphic display and associated electronic components, such components being mounted in fixed relation to the semi-graphic display, for permitting the use of high density, non-illuminated, semi-graphic displays while retaining the information capability of a full functional graphic. The system includes a frame designed to support structural elements therein and to protect electrical wiring connected between electrical components mounted upon one of the elements, a matrix board. These electrical components include light sources such as light emitting diodes. In a first and second embodiment a circular polarizer screen and a transparent screen are located in front of the matrix board. The circular polarizer, which may be located in direct contact with the transparent screen, is adapted to block incident light transmitted through the polarizer from being reflected. The transparent front screen is sized to protect the polarizer and is embossed, etched or silk screened with semi-graphic information to be displayed by the system.

Rotatable And Expandable Chassis And Cabinet

US Patent:
4223371, Sep 16, 1980
Filed:
Jul 5, 1977
Appl. No.:
5/812583
Inventors:
Mauro G. Togneri - Houston TX
International Classification:
H02B 102
US Classification:
361391
Abstract:
A housing for printed circuit cards or modular assemblies that provides for easy access to the cards or assemblies as well as to interconnection buses and other equipment mounted in the housing is disclosed. The housing includes a cabinet having two fixed, substantially flat plates. The housing further includes a chassis having two substantially rectangular rotating plates. Each fixed plate of the cabinet has a rotating plate of the chassis connected to one side of it by means of two removable hinge pins such that the axis extending from the front to the back of the rotating plate extends perpendicular to the axis extending from the top to the bottom of the fixed plate when both hinge pins are in place. Orientation of the pins is such that by removing one pin, the rotating plate is rotatable about the other pin with respect to the fixed plate. The rectangular rotating plates are connected together by a system of bars forming the chassis on which printed circuit cards and other equipment can be mounted.

Ac-To-Dc Converter System

US Patent:
3942095, Mar 2, 1976
Filed:
Aug 20, 1974
Appl. No.:
5/498958
Inventors:
Mauro Guiseppe Togneri - Houston TX
Harry Samuel Elliott - Stafford TX
International Classification:
H02M 744
US Classification:
321 47
Abstract:
A signal conversion system wherein variable amplitude alternating current signals from instrument sensors, which represent the magnitude of measured physical variables or control signals by amplitude modulated alternating current voltage signals, are converted to variable amplitude direct current or voltage signals (FIG. 1). The input signal is filtered for normal mode noise and capacitor isolated for common mode noise. The conversion process also includes magnitude scaling of the variable amplitude input signal, including but not limited to, square root extraction and linear amplitude adjustment.

Controller Deviation Indicator

US Patent:
4254412, Mar 3, 1981
Filed:
Jun 12, 1979
Appl. No.:
6/047710
Inventors:
Mauro G. Togneri - Houston TX
Assignee:
Powell Industries, Inc. - Houston TX
International Classification:
G08B 1900
US Classification:
340525
Abstract:
A deviation indicator interface for simultaneously providing an indication of the deviation of the process value from the set point for each loop of a multi-loop controller is disclosed. The deviation indicator interface includes a plurality of deviation indicators, each deviation indicator providing an indication of the loop deviation of a single loop. Each deviation indicator includes a first, second and third indicator portion. The first indicator portion produces a visible signal whenever the loop process value exceeds the loop set point by at least a first amount, the first amount being adjustable. The second indicator portion produces a visible signal whenever the loop process value is less than the loop set point by at least a second amount, the second amount being adjustable. The third indicator portion produces a visible signal whenever the loop process value (1) is equal to the loop set point, (2) exceeds the loop set point by an amount less than the first amount, or (3) is less than the loop set point by an amount less than the second amount.
