2013 here we are!! In 2013 we are striving to become a "normal" market. Last year business was about 80% of our business bombarded with short sales and REO's (real estate owned by the banks). This year we are having multiple bids. Investment groups are buying the homes, fixing them up to sell. And people are buying because they don't have the cash to fix homes up. It is now more important to have the right Realtor who can help you see what homes you are buying, negotiate, strategize, and successfully close your transaction. I'm constantly reminding myself I became a Realtor for a reason - to be a community service, to help individuals obtain their goal in their real estate needs - no matter if it's equity position or a distress need. Being a Realtor still is the best thing that's ever happened to me. For almost 25 years working for Cook Realty shows me what dedication the company has for its employees and what we can do for our clients. I want to have the same dedication and caring conduct. I still love my job with additional bruises now to show it. Yup, I'm still here to service the public by helping them go through this life change in selling their home or buying but the best thing is I'm here to make this transition smoother.
