Abstract:
A photoactive device includes a photoactive region disposed between and electrically connected to two electrodes where the photoactive region includes a first organic photoactive layer comprising a first donor material and a second organic photoactive layer comprising a first acceptor material. The first donor material contains photoactive polymer-wrapped carbon nanotubes and the photoactive region includes one or more additional organic photoactive material layers disposed between the first donor material layer and the acceptor material layer. The photoactive region creates excitons upon absorption of light in the range of about 400 nm to 1450 nm.

System And Method For Processing Toll Transactions

US Patent:
2005019, Sep 8, 2005
Filed:
Jul 12, 2004
Appl. No.:
10/889746

Michael Arnold - Scottsdale AZ, US
Diana Phillips - Scottsdale AZ, US
Adam Tuton - Paradise Valley AZ, US
International Classification:
G07B013/04
US Classification:
705417000
Abstract:
A system and method for fleet-based processing of toll transactions comprises: a toll processing service provider (); toll agencies () providing toll transaction data () to the toll processing service provider (); fleet vehicle owners () providing fleet vehicle information () to the toll processing service provider (), whereby a match between the toll transaction data () provided by toll authorities () and the vehicle information () provided by fleet vehicle owners () results in payment(s) () made to the toll agencies () by the toll processing service provider () on behalf of the fleet vehicle owners (). Disclosed features and specifications may be variously controlled, adapted or otherwise optionally modified to improve fleet-based collection of tolls for any application or operating environment. Exemplary embodiments of the present invention generally provide for the elimination or reduction of toll violation processing.

Inflatable Ball And Valve Sealing Device

US Patent:
4341382, Jul 27, 1982
Filed:
Jan 30, 1980
Appl. No.:
6/116940
Inventors:
Michael C. Arnold - Ann Arbor MI
International Classification:
A63B 4100
A63B 4112
US Classification:
273 65C
Abstract:
The invention comprises a pin shaped repair plug for sealing the bladder valve of an inflatable ball such as a football, soccer ball, basketball, etc. The plug is inserted and removed with a special tool. The plug is retained substantially inside the bladder valve with little or no protrusion from the exterior surface of the valve and ball. The plug grips the inside wall of the valve passage frictionally. The gripping action is sufficient to prevent dislodgment of the plug despite the most demanding use of the ball. As an example, the plug was tested for a full season of practice including punting by a college level football team. The plug is substantially cylindrical in shape with either an externally or an internally threaded head integrally formed thereon. The tool for inserting and removing the plug from the bladder valve includes either a complementary internally threaded or externally threaded end attachable to the plug head. The internally threaded version of the tool includes an external bevel or chamfer tapering from the outside diameter of the tool to the end of the tool.

Prosthetic System Comprising Programmed Magnets

US Patent:
2021037, Dec 9, 2021
Filed:
Jun 3, 2021
Appl. No.:
17/337990

- Minneapolis MN, US
Shayla O'Brien - Phoenix AZ, US
Michael R. Arnold - Gilbert AZ, US
Seth O'Brien - Phoenix AZ, US
International Classification:
A61F 2/80
A61F 2/78
A61F 2/68
Abstract:
In one example of the present disclosure, a system may be configured with a prosthetic liner configured to be worn over a residual limb of a user where the prosthetic liner comprises a first one or more programmed magnets. The system may be further configured with a prosthesis comprising a prosthetic socket configured to receive the residual limb and the prosthetic liner where the prosthetic socket comprises a second one or more programmed magnets. The first one or more programmed magnets are magnetically attracted to and repelled by corresponding ones of the second one or more programmed magnets when the prosthetic liner is received within the prosthetic socket.
