B05D 3/10
US Classification:
428447, 252 62, 427387, 427256, 427140
Abstract:
The invention relates to a composition for applying a clear or translucent and colorless or nearly colorless emissive coating especially for cool roofing on a metallic surface comprising in a dispersion a) 50 to 300 g/L of at least one of clear or translucent organic polymeric substances of a binder, and b) 30 to 300 g/L of sheet silicate pigments having a TE value for the thermal emissivity of at least 0.40, having a particle size distribution of which dis in the range of 0.3 to 80 μm and having been comminuted, disintegrated, exfoliated or any combination of these to thin particles. There is further on provided a process for applying a clear or translucent and colorless or nearly colorless emissive coating especially for cool roofing on a metallic surface wherein a composition of the invention is applied on a metallic surface, wherein the coating is dried and wherein the dried coating has a coating weight in the range of from 0.2 to 2000 g/m.There is further on provided a clear or translucent and colorless or nearly colorless emissive coating as prepared with a composition of the invention as well as a cool element like a cool roofing element.

Process And Solution For Providing A Thin Corrosion Inhibiting Coating On A Metallic Surface

US Patent:
2004011, Jun 24, 2004
Filed:
Dec 24, 2002
Appl. No.:
10/328924
Inventors:
Michael Deemer - Easton PA, US
Chanard Cooper - Newark NJ, US
International Classification:
C23C022/07
US Classification:
148/259000
Abstract:
The invention relates to a process for coating metallic surfaces with a phosphating coating by contacting metallic surfaces at a temperature not above 45 C. and at a pH value less than 3.5 with an aqueous acidic alkali metal phosphating solution or dispersion containing: At least one compound of at least one phosphorus containing acid and/or at least one of their derivates like esters and salts in a total content of all kinds of acids and all their derivates like esters and salts together of less than 20 g/L calculated on mole base as orthophosphate, whereby the content of such phosphorus containing compounds/ions is at least 50% by weight in comparison to all such compounds/ions and at least one ion selected from the group consisting of at least one alkali metal ion and ammonium ion, whereby the phosphating coating has a coating composition with a phosphorus content of not more than 8 atomic % as measured by Secondary Neutral Mass Spectroscopy (SNMS) and whereby the phosphating coating has a coating weight in the range from 0.01 to 0.5 g/m.
