Spring Applied Electronic Release Parking Brake

US Patent:
2003001, Jan 30, 2003
Filed:
Jul 26, 2001
Appl. No.:
09/915805
Inventors:
Michael Heaton - Rock Hill SC, US
William Buckner - Grosse Ile MI, US
International Classification:
B60L007/00
US Classification:
188/158000
Abstract:
A vehicle parking brake assembly is particularly useful as a driveline parking brake. The parking brake assembly is spring applied and electrically released. A mechanical spring operates to move an engaging portion into a braking position when the parking brake is applied. An electrically powered actuator operates to selectively move the spring against the bias of the spring to thereby release the parking brake.

Tandem Angular Contact Roller Bearing With Concave Roller Profile For Improved Roller Guidance

US Patent:
2011031, Dec 29, 2011
Filed:
Jun 29, 2010
Appl. No.:

Assignee:
SCHAEFFLER TECHNOLOGIES GMBH & CO. KG - Herzogenaurach
International Classification:
F16C 33/34
US Classification:
384568
Abstract:
A tandem roller bearing having circumferential inner and outer races each having first and second contact surfaces with convex profiles is provided. Rolling elements are arranged between the inner and outer races, each of the rolling elements having a concave profile corresponding to the convex profiles of a respective pairing of the first contact surfaces of the inner and outer races or of the second contact surfaces of the inner and outer races. A cage is arranged between the inner and outer races that separates and is guided by the rolling elements. The rolling elements include first and second sets of rolling elements having first and second axes of rotation that are arranged between the first and second contact surfaces of the inner and outer races, respectively. The first and second axes of rotation are inclined in a same direction with respect to a central axis of the inner race.

International Classification:
F16C 33/78
F16C 33/32
F16C 19/06
Abstract:
A bearing, including: an inner ring defining a first groove; an outer ring including a radially inner surface, the radially inner surface facing an axis of rotation of the bearing, defining a second groove, and defining at least one third groove; a cage radially disposed between the inner ring and the outer ring; a plurality of balls retained by the cage, and disposed in the first groove, and in the second groove; an annular sleeve including a first portion disposed in the third groove; and a resilient element urging the outer ring and the annular sleeve away from each other parallel to the axis of rotation of the bearing.

Bearing Cage Assembly Including Metal Shell

US Patent:
2021028, Sep 16, 2021
Filed:
Mar 16, 2020
Appl. No.:
16/820109
Inventors:
- Herzogenaurach, DE
Ronald Taylor - York SC, US
Guihui Zhong - Charlotte NC, US
Michael Heaton - Rock Hill SC, US
Assignee:
Schaeffler Technologies AG & Co. KG - Herzogenaurach
International Classification:
F16C 33/38
F16C 33/42
Abstract:
A bearing cage assembly is disclosed herein that includes a first cage half formed as a plastic cage and a second cage half formed as a metal shell. The first cage half includes a first base rim and a first plurality of arms extending axially from the first base rim. The second cage half includes a second base rim and a second plurality of arms extending axially from the second base rim. The second plurality of arms are each formed by a first flange and a second flange. The first flange and the second flange are spaced apart from each other in a radial direction to define a receptacle dimensioned to receive a respective one of the first plurality of arms. Free ends of the first flange and the second flange are crimped over to retain the first cage half with the second cage half.

Two-Piece Hybrid Bearing Cage Assembly

US Patent:
2021028, Sep 16, 2021
Filed:
Mar 13, 2020
Appl. No.:
16/818190
Inventors:
- Herzogenaurach, DE
Michael Heaton - Rock Hill SC, US
Dennis Roffe - Fort Mill SC, US
Assignee:
Schaeffler Technologies AG & Co. KG - Herzogenaurach
International Classification:
F16C 33/38
F16C 19/06
