Abstract:
A method for establishing a spatial street address data set including: First, in no particular order: () providing street address data; () providing postal data; () providing community translation data; and () providing a spatial layer base map. Second, establishing a first data base containing once-translated address entries, each relating to a selected community entry from the street address data or a selected community entry from the community translation data. Third, establishing a second data base containing twice-translated address entries, each relating to a selected street name entry from the postal data or a selected street name entry from the street address data. Fourth, treating the second data base with a geocoder routine to create geocoded address entries in a geocoded data set. Fifth, situating the geocoded data set in a spatial layer. Sixth, orienting the spatial layer with known loci in the spatial layer base map.

System And Method For Unilateral Verification Of Caller Location Information

US Patent:
2006010, May 25, 2006
Filed:
Oct 24, 2005
Appl. No.:
11/257262
Inventors:
Linda D'Evelyn - Lafayette CO, US
George Heinrichs - Longmont CO, US
Michael Koepke - Geneva IL, US
Stephen Meer - Niwot CO, US
Raymond Paddock - Louisville CO, US
Peter Schmidt - Westminster CO, US
International Classification:
H04M 11/04
US Classification:
379037000, 379045000
Abstract:
A system and method for members of the public to retrieve and verify the accuracy of emergency response information that is associated with a communication device and would be utilized in an emergency services network should the device be used to summon emergency services. Such information can include location of the origin of a call for emergency services, identification of emergency service providers who would respond to such a call, and/or the level of accuracy of location information that would be provided to an emergency service dispatcher were such device used to summon emergency services.

System And Method For Direct Subscriber Population Of Emergency Services Database Records

US Patent:
2007012, May 31, 2007
Filed:
Oct 31, 2006
Appl. No.:
11/554975
Inventors:
Michael Koepke - Geneva IL, US
Lawrence Ciesla - Yorkville IL, US
Rahul Miglani - Arlington Heights IL, US
International Classification:
H04M 11/04
US Classification:
379037000
Abstract:
A method to enable a subscriber to enter his or her address directly into a regional ALI database for use if and when the subscriber makes a 9-1-1 call. After a subscriber establishes telephony service in a new location, the subscriber connects to a processing system that can update a regional ALI that serves the subscriber's location. The subscriber is prompted to enter his or her telephone number and location information, optimally starting with the broadest location information (e.g., state) down to the narrowest (e.g., specific number street on a street). If the location information does not match a location recognized by MSAG, the subscriber is presented with one or more alternatives that are recognized by MSAG. When data entry is complete, the processing system stores the updated information and, advantageously, delivers the updated information to the ALI that serves the emergency service zone where the TN is now located.

Verification Of Communications Network-Derived Location Information

US Patent:
2008013, Jun 5, 2008
Filed:
Nov 30, 2006
Appl. No.:
11/564923
Inventors:
Michael Arthur Koepke - Geneva IL, US
International Classification:
H04M 11/04
US Classification:
4554042, 455466
Abstract:
A system and method that tests emergency services location information and provides virtually instantaneous feed-back to a technician in the field, monitoring center or both. A location of a mobile communications device is determined by the technician via independent means and a call is placed to a special test number. When an element in the mobile network receives the call, it recognizes the special number and obtains location information regarding the mobile communications device by the means currently employed in the art for emergency services calls. The location information is delivered back to the calling mobile communications device, where it is compared to the previously-determined location. The two locations may then be stored on the mobile communications device, forwarded to a monitoring center or both.
