Garden Plant Protector

US Patent:
2011024, Oct 13, 2011
Filed:
Apr 7, 2010
Appl. No.:
12/662235
Inventors:
Paul C. McMichael - Round Hill VA, US
International Classification:
A01G 13/02
US Classification:
47 311
Abstract:
For the protection of domestic gardens against varmints, birds, and the like, this frame screen, or multiple outdoor screens thereof, guard against invasion and are readily portable for shipping. The screen is preferably formed by stamping of a platen wherein multiple cavities are defined end-to-end and side-by-side, exposing the covered garden rows of seedlings or plants to the atmosphere, which thus exclude voracious animals from feeding on the plants. Each screen unit may be closed at ends or extended in-line to accommodate the garden rows. Alternately, the units may serve as a frame to support a flexible cover against frost, excessive wind, rain, snow and the like. For transportation, multiple frame units are fitted upon one another into a compact, moveable bundle.

Sliding Panel Anti-Friction Runner

US Patent:
5855041, Jan 5, 1999
Filed:
Apr 5, 1996
Appl. No.:
8/628514
Inventors:
Paul C. McMichael - Berryville VA
International Classification:
A47H 1500
E05D 1506
US Classification:
16 91
Abstract:
This heavy-duty, sliding panel door guard/bumper includes a rigid base plate which is suitable for mounting upon a doorjamb or a sliding panel in a distortion-free connection, by means of plural fastening anchors. The panel serves as a mount for opposed trunnions which mount a wheel axle thereon. The gudgeons of the trunnions are elevated vertically from the base plate, adjacent one end thereof and the elevation of each trunnion is inclined forwardly to form a sliding slope which corresponds at its proximal end to the circumference of an aligned sliding panel bumper wheel, although the maximum elevation of the trunnions is less than the protruding circumference of the bumper wheel. The wheel has axle bearings therein such that a minimum of friction is presented to passing contact of one heavy duty panel which is slid relative to another. Guard/bumpers are incorporated in large and small sizes when adapted to door panels which are slided relative to each other, the small sizes being positioned for ease of by-pass movement of panels, relative to each other.

Garden Plant Protector

US Patent:
2014008, Mar 27, 2014
Filed:
Nov 26, 2013
Appl. No.:
14/091217
Inventors:
Paul C. McMichael - Round Hill VA, US
International Classification:
A01G 13/04
A01G 13/02
US Classification:
47 31
Abstract:
A freestanding foraminous frame is provided for the protection of gardens against deer, varmints, birds, and the like. The frame may include three planar sections, including a top section and a pair of side sections. The three planar sections form a protective coop within. The side sections are attached to the top section and extend downward from the top section and outward away from each other. The frame may be made of criss-crossing metal wire segments allowing gases, liquids, and light to move freely within. A plurality of frames may be placed end to end to extend the length of the protective coop.
