Abstract:
A method of preventing or treating hypomagnesemia in pediatric patients and patients with G-tubes or NG-tubes comprising the step of administering a pharmaceutical composition comprised of a magnesium salt, magnesium-L-aspartate hydrochloride, in a water-soluble powder concentrate. When dissolved in water, the pharmaceutical composition provides a method for preventing or treating hypomagnesemia in such patients without compromising the absorption or efficacy of the pharmaceutical composition.

Abstract:
An implant containment apparatus for use with an implant device that defines a cavity that contains a bone graft material, and an implant tool selectively attached to the implant device, the implant containment includes a sack that defines a compartment and an opening that provides access to the compartment, where the compartment is adapted to contain the implant device with bone graft in the cavity and where the opening is adapted to allow the implant tool to extend out of the sack when the implant device is in the compartment, and a pre-attached closing member surrounding the opening adapted to selectively vary the size of the opening between a size that tightly fits around the implant tool and a size that closes the opening.

Abstract:
Disclosed is an expandable interbody device that includes a support structure having a top side and a bottom side, a top plate positioned on the top side of the support structure, a bottom plate positioned on the bottom side of the support structure, a gear rotatably connected to the support structure, wherein the gear is rotatable relative to the support structure, a first rack that is operationally coupled to the top plate, wherein the first rack is operationally connected to the gear such that rotating the gear in an opening direction moves the top plate away from the support structure by moving the first rack relative to the gear, and a second rack that is operationally coupled to the bottom plate, wherein the second rack is operationally connected to the gear such that rotating the gear in an opening direction moves the bottom plate away from the support structure by moving the second rack relative to the gear.
