Three-Dimensional Printed Swabs For Diagnostic Testing

US Patent:
2021029, Sep 23, 2021
Filed:
Feb 18, 2021
Appl. No.:
17/178816
Inventors:
- Tampa FL, US
Jonathan Ford - Tampa FL, US
Howard Kaplan - Tampa FL, US
Gilberto Jaimes - Tampa FL, US
Todd Hazelton - Tampa FL, US
Todd Goldstein - New Hyde Park NY, US
Kami Kim - Tampa FL, US
Michael Teng - Tampa FL, US
John Sinnott - Tampa FL, US
International Classification:
A61B 10/02
Abstract:
A three-dimensional printed swab may include a shaft defining a longitudinal axis of the swab, and a tip portion integrally formed with the shaft. The tip portion may include a body extending outward from the shaft and positioned coaxially with the longitudinal axis, and a plurality of protrusions each extending outward from the body and transverse to the longitudinal axis. Alternatively, the tip portion may include a body extending outward from the shaft and positioned coaxially with the longitudinal axis, and a plurality of recesses each defined in the body and extending inward toward the longitudinal axis. As another alternative, the tip portion may include a body extending outward from the shaft and positioned coaxially with the longitudinal axis, and a series of annular ribs each extending outward from the body and positioned coaxially with the longitudinal axis.

Abstract:
A three-dimensional printed swab may include a shaft defining a longitudinal axis of the swab, and a tip portion integrally formed with the shaft. The tip portion may include a plurality of protrusions each extending outward from the shaft and transverse to the longitudinal axis. A method for fabricating a three-dimensional printed swab may include receiving a digital three-dimensional model corresponding to the swab, and integrally forming, via three-dimensional printing and based at least in part on the digital three-dimensional model, a shaft and a tip portion of the swab. The shaft may define a longitudinal axis of the swab. The tip portion may include a plurality of protrusions each extending outward from the shaft and transverse to the longitudinal axis.

Peptibodies, Compositions Thereof, And Methods Of Treating Atrial Fibrillation

US Patent:
2019022, Jul 25, 2019
Filed:
Mar 29, 2019
Appl. No.:
16/369822
Inventors:
SAMI FOUAD NOUJAIM - Land O Lakes FL, US
MICHAEL TENG - Tampa FL, US
Assignee:
University of South Florida - Tampa FL
International Classification:
C07K 14/435
A61K 47/65
A61K 47/68
C07K 16/28
A61P 9/06
Abstract:
Described herein are peptibodies that can contain a TertiapinQ peptide, formulations thereof, and uses thereof. In some embodiments, the peptibody can include a first monomer and a second monomer, wherein each monomer can include an Fc polypeptide, a first TertiapinQ peptide, wherein the N-terminus of the first TertiapinQ peptide can be linked to the C-terminus of the Fc polypeptide via a first linker, and wherein the first monomer and the second monomer can be attached via a disulfide bridge between the Fc polypeptide of the first monomer and the Fc polypeptide of the second monomer. The compositions and formulations thereof can be used to treat atrial fibrillation.
