Abstract:
A seatback assembly includes an inner carrier module having an upper cross member. The upper cross member includes first and second mounting slots and first and second access apertures disposed therethrough. A seatback frame assembly includes an upper frame member with access apertures disposed therethrough. The inner carrier module is located to a front side of the seatback frame assembly when a locator member of the inner carrier module is received in a locating aperture of the seatback frame assembly. The access apertures of the inner carrier module are aligned with the access apertures of the seatback frame assembly when the two components are coupled together. Guide sleeves are received though the access apertures. A back panel module mounts to a rear side of the seatback frame assembly, wherein upper hook members of the back panel are partially received in the mounting slots of the inner carrier module.

A vehicle seating assembly includes a seatback. A back panel includes a front closeout panel. A carrier supports the seatback and includes an upper thoracic region having a peripheral support. A peripheral gap is defined between the front closeout panel and the upper thoracic region. A bottom portion of the upper thoracic region includes a lower wall having a sinusoidal configuration. A lower lumber region includes a peripheral support. A peripheral gap is defined between the front closeout panel and the lower lumber region. An upper portion of the lower lumbar region includes an upper wall having a sinusoidal configuration. A plurality of concave connectors couple the lower wall of the upper thoracic region with the upper wall of the lower lumber region.

Abstract:
A headrest assembly includes a linkage system that is at least partially disposed within a housing. The linkage system is operable between fore and aft positions relative to the housing. An adjustable cover assembly includes a first member coupled to the linkage system for movement therewith, and a second member pivotally coupled to the first member. The second member includes an engagement flange configured to contact a portion of the housing to pivot the second member rearwardly as the adjustable cover assembly is driven outward by the linkage system during the positioning of a headrest bun.

Abstract:
A headrest assembly includes a headrest bun adjustably supported on a linkage system. An adjustable cover assembly is operable between stowed and deployed positons relative to a position of the headrest bun and is configured to cover the linkage system in use. The adjustable cover assembly includes first and second members, wherein the first member is coupled to the linkage system for movement therewith and the second member is pivotally coupled to the first member. A gap is defined between the first member and the second member, and the gap is maintained by a plurality of spacers disposed on the first member as the cover assembly moves from the stowed position to the deployed position with the headrest bun.

A vehicle seatback assembly includes a cushion assembly having a seating surface. A back panel includes a first side portion, a second side portion, and a back portion. A first living hinge is disposed between the first side portion and back portion. A second living hinge is disposed between the second side portion and back portion. A frame is disposed between the back panel and the cushion assembly. A peripheral cushion structure supports a periphery of the cushion assembly. A closeout panel is coupled with the back panel and is disposed behind the cushion structure to define a peripheral gap between the closeout panel and the cushion structure that extends around the sides of said seatback assembly. A shingled portion of the closeout panel extends behind and couples with the back panel. An airbag is coupled with the frame and is configured to deploy between the closeout and back panels.
